On most Samsung Smart TVs, open Settings (All Settings) > Picture > Expert Settings. Raise or lower Color to change saturation; use Tint (G/R) to correct a green or red cast. Menu names and available controls vary by model, year, picture mode, and region, so use your TV’s manual if the path does not match.
Choose the control that matches the picture problem

Adjust Color or Tint step by step
- Note the current picture mode and settings. This gives you a reference if you want to undo your changes manually.
- Open the picture controls. Press Home on the remote, open Settings or All Settings, then select Picture > Expert Settings. Samsung’s US instructions use this route; the precise labels can vary. [Samsung US picture settings; Samsung Australia picture settings]
- Select the relevant control. Choose Color for overall saturation or Tint (G/R) for a green/red shift. Make a small adjustment, then watch the same scene again.
- Reassess the image. The right result depends on the content and your preference. Samsung does not specify one numerical value that is correct for every TV, source, and viewing setup.
When to adjust Color Tone or other advanced controls
Color Tone
Use Color Tone only when the overall image appears too warm or too cool, rather than too saturated or green/red-shifted. Samsung’s US guide lists Cool and Standard for Dynamic picture mode and Warm1 and Warm2 as warmer, pinker tones; the choices shown on your TV may differ. White Balance, Color Space, and RGB Only Mode
These are advanced controls, not required for a basic color adjustment. Samsung describes White Balance as adjusting red, green, and blue levels so white appears white; Color Space configures the color range; and RGB Only Mode fine-tunes saturation and tint for individual red, green, and blue channels. Avoid changing them unless you are deliberately making a more advanced adjustment. [Samsung US]
Picture Mode
Picture Mode changes the broader appearance of the image and can affect which controls are available. Samsung’s US guide lists Standard, Dynamic, Eco, Movie, and Filmmaker Mode, but available modes and behavior depend on the TV. If a setting is missing, check the selected mode and your model’s manual. [Samsung US]

If the menu path or setting is missing
Samsung cautions that available screens may differ by model and year. Its Canada guidance is scoped to televisions sold in Canada and notes that settings may differ in other markets; it also distinguishes 2022-and-newer TVs in its picture-settings information. Look up the exact model number on the TV and consult its official manual or product support page. Samsung recommends the product manual when its general menu instructions do not match your screen. [Samsung US]

Undo picture changes
If you want to restore the picture settings, open Settings (All Settings) > Picture > Expert Settings > Reset Picture and confirm. This resets picture settings to factory defaults and may undo other picture adjustments, not just changes to Color or Tint. Menu availability may vary. [Samsung US; Samsung Canada reset instructions]

No. Color and Tint can be adjusted in the TV’s picture menu. Samsung says a calibration disc can be played through a Blu-ray player for readers pursuing more advanced calibration, but it is optional and not needed for these basic adjustments. [Samsung US]
