Broadcom has not been verified as the source of a printer driver or a Broadcom printer-driver fix. To fix a printer in Windows 10, identify the printer’s manufacturer and exact model, then update its driver through Windows Update. If Windows cannot find a suitable driver, get a compatible one from the printer manufacturer’s official support page—not from a generic “Broadcom printer driver” download.
Why a Broadcom printer driver is probably the wrong search
Broadcom’s Support Documents and Downloads page covers Broadcom products and directs users to search for product documentation and downloads. Its Support Portal provides support routing, including access to VMware downloads. The official pages reviewed do not establish a Broadcom printer or a Broadcom printer driver. Broadcom is therefore not a verified source for the printer driver you need.
Start with the printer itself. Find its manufacturer and exact model on the label, the printer’s display, or its documentation. A driver is specific to the device and may also depend on your Windows version and system architecture.
Check compatibility before changing the driver
In Windows, open Settings > System > About to check your Windows edition and version, and look for the system type to identify whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit. Record the printer’s connection type as well: USB, Wi-Fi, or another network connection.

Microsoft notes that a compatibility problem can occur when a driver is intended for a different Windows version. Check the printer maker’s support page for a driver that matches both your exact printer model and Windows setup. If the manufacturer does not list a Windows 10 driver, do not assume that a similarly named driver for another model or Windows version is suitable. Update the printer driver through Windows Update
Microsoft recommends using Windows Update to obtain or update printer drivers. The available labels can differ by Windows version, so follow the printer and update options shown on your device. Microsoft’s driver installation instructions cover the supported routes.

- Open Windows Update. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, then select Check for updates.
- Install any available printer driver updates. If Windows presents optional updates, check the driver updates listed there as well.
- Restart if prompted, then try printing a test page or a simple document.
If Windows Update does not offer a suitable driver, visit the printer manufacturer’s official support page and search by the exact model. Confirm the Windows version and system type before downloading. Avoid generic driver-download utilities and files that do not clearly identify the printer model and supported Windows versions.
Try connection checks before reinstalling
A printer that appears offline or does not respond may have a connection problem rather than a driver problem. Microsoft’s connection and printing troubleshooting guidance includes basic checks:

- For USB, check that the cable is firmly connected at both ends and try a different port if available.
- For a wireless printer, confirm that it is connected to the network and that the computer is using the expected network.
- Turn the printer off and back on, then allow it to reconnect before printing again.
Remove and add the printer again
If updating the driver and checking the connection do not help, remove the printer from Windows and add it again. This can make Windows detect the device and fetch an available driver through Windows Update.
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the affected printer and choose Remove device.
- Restart the printer. For a USB printer, connect it to the computer; for a wireless printer, confirm it is on the network.
- Return to Printers & scanners, select Add a printer or scanner, and follow the prompts.
- After Windows adds it, run Windows Update and install any offered printer driver updates.
If Windows does not find a local printer automatically, Microsoft also describes adding it manually and selecting the printer’s existing port and the manufacturer and model from the Windows list. Use that route only when the listed model matches your device; do not choose a near match just to complete setup.

Clear the print queue only when jobs are stuck
If documents remain queued or the printer will not start a job, the issue may be the Windows print queue rather than a missing driver. Microsoft describes clearing stuck jobs by stopping the Print Spooler service, deleting the queued files, and starting the service again. Follow the steps in Microsoft’s printing-problems guide. Do not treat this as a driver download or use it as the first response to a compatibility warning.

Windows 10 support ended on October 14, 2025
Microsoft says Windows 10 support ended on October 14, 2025. Its notice states: “After October 14, 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide free software updates from Windows Update, technical assistance, or security fixes for Windows 10.” That changes the support available for the operating system; it does not identify the correct driver for a particular printer. Check the printer maker’s current instructions for your exact model and Windows setup.
