The Fisher & Paykel CI604ZCTPB2 is a 60 cm, four-zone induction cooktop rated at 4.5 kW, with SmartZone linking two cooking zones for larger cookware. Its strongest practical case is that combination of flexible cooking space and a specified 20 A service. Whether it is a good choice for your kitchen depends on three checks: the actual cabinet cutout, electrical suitability and whether independent test results are available to you.
What the CI604ZCTPB2 offers
This Series 5 model has four induction zones, touch-and-slide controls and a ceramic-glass cooking surface. Its listed features include a minute timer, Gentle Heat, pause, PowerBoost, pan detection, keylock, spill auto-off and surface-hot indicators. Fisher & Paykel also lists Link Mode for automatic activation of a compatible rangehood and SmartHQ onboarding; check the current manual and your rangehood model for compatibility and setup details.
SmartZone and cookware
SmartZone combines two cooking zones and controls them as one, making the linked area useful for a griddle, large pan or whole fish. As Fisher & Paykel puts it, “SmartZone links two cooking zones and controls them as one, giving you the flexibility to cook with large pans, griddles, or ingredients like whole fish.” It does not make every large pan suitable: induction cookware must be compatible, and its base dimensions should suit the linked area. CHOICE lists usable pan diameters for this model, but those details should be checked against the cookware you plan to use.

Do not judge fit by the 60 cm product width alone. Fisher & Paykel’s Series 5 Planning Guide, Version C (September 2025), gives overall dimensions of 600 × 530 × 61 mm and a cutout of 560 × 490 mm. It also lists a 1200 mm connection cable.
#1 Best Overall
- HIGH EFFICIENCY - ChangBERT Induction cooktop offers 9 preset power levels (200-1800W) and 18 preset temperature settings (120-460℉, 20F per level). With an 83% energy efficiency rating, the induction cooker is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves, providing quick heat-up and faster cooking times.
- CONSISTENTLY STABLE HIGH-POWER OUTPUT - Built for constant use, it features continuous-duty circuitry for non-stop cooking. The unique power control technology ensures stable high-power output, reduces the temperature of internal electronics, and facilitates low-noise heat dissipation, providing reliable cooking performance. This dependable performance sets it apart from others.
- LARGE COOKING AREA - Features an expanded magnetic coil design that optimizes the winding structure to enhance the transfer of electromagnetic energy directly to the cookware, significantly improving heating efficiency and ensuring more even heat distribution across the bottom of the cookware.

Designed for large-volume usage, it is ideal for commercial and professional settings such as restaurants, industrial kitchens, and other catering services.
- EASY TO CONTROL & CLEAN - The control buttons with solid tactile response make operation intuitive and precise. With simple and clear display, the Key-Press-Control Panel provides clear visibility and easy control, even with gloves or wet hands. With no open flame or heating element, food does not burn onto the glass cooktop, making it easy to clean greasy dirt.
The guide is for planning, not installation instructions. Before buying, confirm the cutout, required clearances, supply and local installation requirements against the product-specific installation information. An existing opening that is close to the nominal dimensions is not proof of a suitable fit.
What does the 20 A rating mean?
The manufacturer lists a 20 A service at 220–240 V, 50 Hz, and markets the cooktop as a 4.5 kW model suited to replacement and renovation. “Low current” describes the specified service; it does not mean the appliance will work with every existing connection or circuit. Have a licensed electrician confirm that your installation is suitable before purchase or installation.

- PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage
- Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves
- DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
- Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning
How strong is the independent review evidence?
CHOICE’s public exact-model listing identifies four cooking zones, 4.5 kW maximum output, overall dimensions of 60 × 53 cm, installation dimensions of 56 × 49 cm, usable pan diameters, an Australian price of A$1,699 and a two-year warranty entry that can extend to five years if registered. The listed price is specific to the Australian page captured in 2026, not a universal price. CHOICE marks the model as tested from 2024 onward, but its expert rating and test scores are members-only, so a score or comparative performance verdict cannot be established from the public listing.

Who should consider it—and what to verify first
- Consider it if you want four induction zones and expect to use SmartZone for a griddle or other larger cookware.
- Check cookware for induction compatibility and confirm that pan bases suit the cooking zones you intend to use.
- Measure the cutout and verify clearances and installation requirements using product-specific guidance, rather than relying on the nominal 60 cm width.
- Confirm the circuit with a licensed electrician; the 20 A rating is a requirement to check, not a guarantee that an existing connection is appropriate.
- Assess the evidence you can access before treating it as a performance pick: detailed CHOICE scores are gated, and the retrieved Consumer NZ page does not expose this model’s results.
