To see saved Google Lens searches, sign in to the Google Account you used, then open Data & privacy → Web & App Activity → Manage all Web & App Activity. Google says eligible saved images appear in the activity list. Some accounts may also have Search Services History, which can show saved media such as Lens images.
Where to find Google Lens history
Use a browser on a computer, phone, or tablet. Google’s account activity controls are the most reliable route; the precise labels can vary as Google rolls out its newer Search Services History interface.
- Sign in to the Google Account you used when searching with Lens.
- Open Data & privacy.
- Under History settings, open Web & App Activity.
- Select Manage all Web & App Activity and look through the activity list for saved images.
- If you see Search Services History, open it and choose View and delete saved history to review saved media.
Google describes both Web & App Activity and Search Services History as places to review saved Lens images. Search Services History is rolling out gradually, so it may not appear in every account or interface. Google also notes that thumbnails of images or videos viewed in My Activity are not themselves saved media and are not covered by the Save Media subsetting. Google’s Search Services History help explains the newer controls.
Why a Lens search may not appear
A missing item does not necessarily mean Lens history is broken. Google says Visual Search History is off by default, and saving depends on the account, service, and app or device version used. Availability can also vary by account type or locale.

- Check that you are signed into the same Google Account you used for Lens.
- Check whether Visual Search History was enabled when you made the search.
- Keep in mind that not every eligible service or app/device version saves images.
Visual Search History applies to images used to search with eligible signed-in Google services. Google lists Lens in the Google app on Android, iPhone, and iPad; the Lens app; Quick Search Box and All Apps Tray on Android; and Circle to Search on Android. For the exact scope and account route, see Google’s Visual Search History settings help.
Can you check Lens history in the Google app?
A Google Search Community Product Expert’s guide, last edited August 16, 2024, describes opening the Google app, tapping the Lens icon, and then using a clock/history icon in the upper-right corner. Treat this as a version-dependent shortcut rather than a guaranteed current feature. If the icon is missing, use the Google Account activity route above. The community guide is available at Google Search Community.

How to delete saved Lens history
In Web & App Activity or My Activity, Google’s controls let you delete an individual activity item, activity from a day, a custom date range, or all time. Open the relevant activity entry or deletion controls and choose the scope you want. Review the selection before confirming, since broader deletion can remove other account activity as well.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteGoogle says deletion first removes activity from view and may stop it being used to personalize your experience, then begins a process designed to delete it from storage systems. Limited business or legal requirements may mean some data is retained longer. See Google’s My Activity guidance for reviewing and deleting account activity.
How to stop future Lens images from being saved
- Open Data & privacy → Web & App Activity in your Google Account.
- Turn off Visual Search History. In some interfaces, the control is labeled Include Visual Search History.
This setting controls saving eligible images as part of Web & App Activity; it does not disable Lens image searching. Turning it off does not delete images already saved, which must be removed through Web & App Activity or My Activity. It also does not turn off Web & App Activity altogether, so other search activity may continue to be saved. Google says previously saved images may still be used to improve visual technologies unless you delete them.
Auto-delete and browser history are separate
Google’s general activity settings offer auto-delete choices of 3, 18, or 36 months. Those are options for general activity settings, not a guarantee that every Lens image will remain until the selected interval: Google says it may delete saved images sooner when they are no longer needed to develop and improve services using visual search technologies. Details are in Google Account Help and the Google Search history help page.
