Filigran announced a $35 million Series B on October 28, 2024, led by Insight Partners, with existing investors Accel and Moonfire participating again. The cybersecurity company said it planned to use the funding for international expansion—particularly in the United States and Pacific region—and product development focused on AI and data engineering. Those were announced priorities, not proof that the plans were subsequently completed.
Who invested in Filigran’s $35 million Series B?
Insight Partners led the round, while Accel and Moonfire continued their backing. Filigran said the Series B followed a $16 million Series A earlier in 2024. The amounts and investor participation were reported in Filigran’s October 28, 2024 announcement.
Insight Principal Crissy Costa Behrens discussed the investor’s rationale in the company announcement. That is an investor’s assessment, rather than an independent evaluation of Filigran’s products or market position.

Filigran is a cybersecurity software company founded in 2022 by Samuel Hassine and Julien Richard. Its two flagship products at the time of the announcement were OpenCTI and OpenBAS, presented together as the eXtended Threat Management (XTM) suite. Filigran described the suite as helping organizations understand threat environments, anticipate and detect incidents, reduce response time, and test critical infrastructure; those are company-described aims, not independently measured results.

| Product | Role |
|---|---|
| OpenCTI | Structures and operationalizes threat intelligence. TechCrunch reported that organizations could import threat data from multiple sources and enrich it with provider intelligence. |
| OpenBAS | Supports adversary emulation and security validation using threat data to identify security gaps; TechCrunch described it as a breach and attack simulation platform. |
| XTM suite | Filigran’s broader suite grouping for OpenCTI and OpenBAS, combining threat intelligence work with simulation and validation. |
The product roles above reflect Filigran’s descriptions and contemporaneous reporting by TechCrunch on October 27, 2024. The funding announcement does not establish that every planned suite capability was available at the time.
What did Filigran say it would do with the funding?
The company named two priorities:
- Expand internationally: Filigran singled out the United States and Pacific region as areas of particular attention.
- Develop its products: It said product innovation would focus on AI and data engineering use cases.
The announcement describes intended uses for the capital; it does not establish which expansion or development goals were later achieved.
What did Filigran report about its community and customers?
In its October 2024 release, Filigran said its open-source community included more than 4,300 cybersecurity professionals and active contributors, and that more than 6,000 public and private organizations worldwide used its solutions. These are company-reported figures from that announcement, not independently audited current counts. TechCrunch separately reported millions of OpenCTI downloads and contributions from 4,300 cybersecurity professionals in its October 27, 2024 coverage; the downloads figure is TechCrunch’s report, not a figure in the official release.
Filigran also said its threat intelligence solutions served private companies and public-sector bodies, including multiple U.S. and Australian federal agencies and European ministries. That account, too, comes from the company’s announcement.

Is this Filigran’s latest funding round?
No. The $35 million Series B is a historical 2024 announcement, not the latest round. Filigran’s newsroom now lists Series C coverage, but that listing alone does not establish the later round’s amount, date, or terms.
