The Fiido Nomads Pro is a good-value touring e-bike for riders who want climbing help and are happy to keep a relaxed pace. Its mid-drive motor, torque sensor and touring equipment set it apart from the cheaper Fiido Nomads, but it is a heavy bike that feels restricted for anyone who likes to ride fast.

This article is based on T3’s hands-on review by Matt Kollat, published 16 September 2026, together with Fiido’s product listing. We did not ride the bike ourselves, so ride impressions below are the reviewer’s unless stated otherwise.

What makes the Nomads Pro different

The Nomads Pro is not simply a stronger version of the standard Nomads. The two bikes use different motor layouts, and that changes how the bike rides, climbs and handles range. The table below sets out the differences that matter when you are choosing between them. Where the T3 review does not give a figure for the standard model, the cell says so.

Decision point Nomads Pro Standard Nomads
Motor position Mid-drive; the motor drives the chain Rear hub motor
Claimed torque 100 Nm (Fiido specification, as reported by T3) 45 Nm (as quoted in T3’s comparison)
Motor power 250 W Not stated in the T3 review
Assistance sensor Mivice X700 torque sensor Not stated in the T3 review
Gearing effect on climbs Lower gears help, because the motor works through the Shimano CUES drivetrain Not stated in the T3 review
Battery 417.6 Wh removable battery Not stated in the T3 review
Fork and brakes 120 mm air fork and four-piston hydraulic brakes (Fiido listing) T3 says the Pro upgrades these components; standard values not stated
Weight and payload 26.2 kg; 120 kg maximum payload (T3) Not stated in the T3 review

The practical consequence is that the Pro’s motor helps you most on hills, because it multiplies your pedalling through the gears rather than adding a fixed push at the rear wheel. Compare the two bikes on layout and gearing, not on wattage alone.

How the mid-drive and torque sensor feel on climbs

The Pro’s 250 W motor is rated at a claimed 100 Nm of torque. That figure comes from Fiido’s specification as reported by T3; it is a manufacturer claim, not a result from an independent lab. The torque sensor reads how hard you push on the pedals and scales assistance to match, which is why riders who want help that follows their effort often prefer this arrangement to a simple on/off boost.

Kollat describes the assistance as smooth and natural-feeling, and says the bike has plenty of torque for climbs. Because the drive runs through the chain, shifting to an easier gear before a hill keeps the motor working in its useful range. That advantage only exists when the gearing is used, so a rider who stays in a high gear will get less from the system.

“The Fiido Nomads Pro’s mid-drive motor is excellent, with smooth, natural assistance and plenty of torque for climbs, while the air fork, four-piston brakes, and Shimano CUES drivetrain make it a far more capable touring machine than its price suggests.” (T3, Matt Kollat, 16 September 2026)

Who the bike suits: pace matters more than you might expect

The T3 review makes pace the central question. Kollat says the bike makes sense on gentle dirt tracks and for riders who are not in a hurry. Its assistance is designed for steady, mixed-terrain riding, and it is most comfortable when you are touring rather than racing between points.

Riders who prefer to push hard will find the bike limiting. The reviewer felt constrained by the speed limit when riding quickly, and sums up the point this way:

“Just don’t go too fast.” (T3, Matt Kollat, 16 September 2026)

Good fit: relaxed touring and climbing

  • Riders who value help on hills and a natural-feeling sensor over raw speed
  • Touring on gentle gravel or dirt routes at a steady pace
  • Riders who want practical equipment, such as a suspension fork and hydraulic brakes, without paying for a specialist machine

Poor fit: speed, low weight or a long seat adjustment

  • Riders who want to cruise quickly or who are frustrated by assistance cutoffs at speed
  • Anyone who needs a light bike to carry, lift or store easily, given the 26.2 kg weight
  • Riders who need a long seatpost adjustment range; Kollat found the seatpost too short for his own riding position

The seatpost point is one reviewer’s experience, not proof of a general fit problem. Test the bike’s reach and saddle height before buying if your proportions are unusual.

Range: what the reviewer observed

Fiido says range depends on the assistance mode, terrain, wind, temperature, surface, how often you stop in traffic, rider weight, carried load and tyre pressure. The figures below show what the reviewer recorded on a single ride, and they should be read as one ride-based example rather than a standard test.

  1. The reviewer rode 25.4 miles and had 42% of the battery left.
  2. From that ride, the reviewer extrapolated a total of about 43.8 miles.
  3. Across mixed-assist riding, including Sport mode, the reviewer judged 40 to 45 miles per charge to be a sensible expectation.

Your own range will move with the same variables Fiido lists. A heavier rider with a rear pannier on a windy, stop-start route with low tyre pressure will see less than the reviewer did on a flatter, steadier route. The battery is 417.6 Wh and removable, and the figures above are for the battery supplied with the reviewed bike.

Battery setup detail

T3 notes that the battery must be switched on separately before the display activates. The reviewer found this briefly confusing, so check the display before you set off.

The expandable battery option

Fiido advertises expandable battery arrangements for longer touring. The T3 reviewer did not receive or test the extra-battery setup for the Pro, so the review offers no evidence of how it works on this bike. Before buying an extra battery, confirm that it is compatible with the Nomads Pro, available in your region and included in the current listing.

The verdict for slower, touring-focused riders

On the evidence of T3’s review and Fiido’s listing, the Nomads Pro delivers a lot of equipment for its price, particularly for riders who want torque-sensing help on climbs and a steady, relaxed touring pace. Its weight, short seatpost on at least one rider’s setup, and limited appeal for fast riding are the main reasons it may not suit you.
