Fauna Audio Glasses make the most sense for calls, podcasts and low-key listening when you want to keep hearing what is happening around you. They are less convincing as everyday music headphones: reviews found limited bass, some sound leakage and difficulty competing with noisy surroundings. Runtime is short, fit may need professional adjustment, and current availability and support are not established.
What are Fauna Audio Glasses?
They are Bluetooth glasses with speakers and microphones built into the temples—not smart glasses with a camera or display. Fauna’s user guide describes Bluetooth 5.0 audio eyewear for music, podcasts, calls and interaction with a paired phone’s assistant. The Guardian’s 2021 review notes there is no camera, display or always-listening assistant.
Android Central’s 2021 specifications list two USound MEMS micro-speakers and electrodynamic woofers, two beamforming microphones, Bluetooth 5.0, Android and iOS compatibility, and a weight of 50 g. These are review-era specifications, not a fresh measurement. The open-ear speakers let ambient sound through; they do not seal off the ear like conventional earbuds.

How do they sound in everyday use?
Calls, podcasts and spoken audio
Spoken-word listening is the stronger fit. Wareable and The Guardian found calls, podcasts and assistant responses more suitable than music, and The Guardian described clear highs and mids. At a moderate volume indoors, that reviewer found the audio audible without needing to block the ears.

Music and noisy surroundings
Expect less bass and depth than from a good pair of conventional headphones. Both The Guardian and Wareable reported limited bass or sound depth; Wareable also noted sound leakage. The Guardian found leakage limited at lower volume when listeners were not very close, but that observation is not a guarantee of privacy. Raising the volume to overcome traffic or other loud noise can make leakage more noticeable, while ambient noise still competes with what you hear.
That trade-off is central: you retain awareness of your surroundings, but the audio is less immersive and easier to lose in noise. They are not a substitute for noise-isolating headphones where quiet or strong music performance matters.
Battery life, charging and water resistance
Wareable and Android Central reported up to four hours of audio playback. That is a stated maximum, not a promise of four hours under every volume level or usage pattern. Laptop Mag’s reviewer averaged about three and a half hours of heavy use and reported four full glasses charges from the case; Wareable reported roughly two hours to recharge the glasses.

For the standby figure, published accounts disagree: The Guardian reported up to 12 hours, while Android Central’s specification table says up to 20 hours. Treat either as a source-specific historical figure rather than a settled current estimate. Android Central lists a 100 mAh glasses battery and a 1300 mAh case battery.
Android Central lists an IP52 rating. Wareable describes the practical limit as some sweat or rain—not swimming or submersion. Rain resistance is not permission to wear them in a pool or sea.
Can you use prescription lenses?
Yes. Fauna’s user guide says the supplied lenses are not prescription correction lenses and allows an optician to retrofit prescription lenses. The guide also says temple-length adjustment should be done by an optician. Do not heat or bend the temples at home: they contain the electronics, and professional fitting is the safer route.

Fit is personal. Android Central’s reviewer found the frames restrictive for a larger head and noted professional adjustment as an option. Check the dimensions and try the frame, if possible, before committing—especially if you already know standard frames tend to fit you poorly.

Controls, pairing and the companion app
Touch-sensitive areas on the temples control playback, volume and calls, and can invoke the paired phone’s assistant. The guide says the glasses reconnect to the last host. To pair them, follow the sequence in the 2022 user guide:
- Place the glasses against the charging case contacts.
- Open the case and check the glasses-status LED.
- Open Bluetooth settings on the phone and select the glasses to pair.
Historical reviewers encountered occasional setup or reconnection friction, including force-pairing attempts. Wareable reported difficulty pairing the app after pairing the glasses on Android and better results on iPhone; Android Central also needed multiple tries. These are individual review experiences, not evidence that every device will have the same problem.

Reviewers described the Fauna app as offering “Whistles” reminders and focus features such as hydration nudges, work intervals, posture reminders and background audio. Its current availability and compatibility with present-day phones have not been established, so do not count on those features when deciding whether to buy.

Repairability is a notable concern for second-hand buyers. In October 2021, The Guardian reported that frames and lenses could be replaced, but the temples could not be repaired and the batteries could not be replaced; it also said Fauna had no repair service at the time. That is dated reporting, not confirmation of the company’s current policy or parts availability. Ask the seller or manufacturer what service is available for the specific pair before purchase.

There is no verified current price or country-by-country availability in the available reporting. Historical launch-era prices vary by source and date:

Verify current stock, condition, warranty and return terms directly with a seller before paying.
Who should consider them?
- Consider them if open-ear listening matters more to you than immersive sound, and your typical use is calls, podcasts or background audio in places where you want to hear your surroundings.
- Look elsewhere if you need long listening sessions, strong bass, noise isolation, dependable use in loud environments or a product with clearly established current repair support.
- Check before buying if you need prescription lenses or have a larger head: confirm the model fits and ask an optician about the retrofit and adjustment.
If comparing them with Bose Frames, Amazon Echo Frames or conventional earbuds, focus on ambient awareness, call and music performance, prescription-lens support, runtime, repairability and present-day availability. Historical reviews mention the first two alternatives, but do not establish their current models or availability.
