FastestVPN’s clearest advantage is its low listed price; the evidence does not support treating its name as a promise of high speed. Reviews report slow performance, inconsistent streaming access and meaningful privacy and usability caveats. Its price and refund terms also differ between the vendor’s FAQ and a recent review, so check the live checkout terms before paying.

Is FastestVPN worth considering?

FastestVPN may suit someone who puts a low upfront cost and support for several devices ahead of reliably fast connections, predictable streaming or especially strong privacy assurances. It is harder to recommend if any one of those latter priorities is essential: TechRadar reported slow connections and patchy streaming, while RTINGS reported very slow download and upload speeds in its own review. Their assessments differ in tone and may reflect different test environments, so neither establishes a universal speed result.

The privacy evidence also needs context. An independent audit found no identifying VPN activity records in the configurations and logs it reviewed on the dates of its 2023 assessment. That is useful, but it is neither continuous verification nor proof of how every system operates today. RTINGS and TechRadar raise separate concerns about policy transparency, audit scope and security testing.

What does FastestVPN cost, and what do the plans include?

The plan details are inconsistent across sources. FastestVPN’s FAQ, accessed October 7, 2026, lists an annual plan; TechRadar’s review, updated September 11, 2026, describes a two-year offer at the same price. Treat these as dated listings, not a confirmed current checkout quote.

Plan or term FastestVPN FAQ TechRadar review
Monthly $5 per month $5 per month
Longer subscription $19.95 annually $19.95 for two years, described as about $0.83 per month
Lifetime $40 one time $40 one time
Refund period 31-day money-back guarantee 31 days listed; TechRadar notes some support pages say 15 days

The annual-versus-two-year discrepancy is unresolved in the reviewed materials. The refund-period mismatch matters too: confirm both the subscription duration and the refund policy shown at checkout and in the applicable policy before purchasing. The FAQ describes a money-back guarantee, not a free trial.

FastestVPN says the account includes ten simultaneous connections. Its FAQ lists additional simultaneous logins at $4 per device. TechRadar also notes optional dedicated IP access, P2P-optimized servers, port forwarding, an ad blocker and two years of access to the FastestPass password manager. TechRadar criticizes the value of some add-ons and the ad blocking, so treat them as extras rather than reasons to assume the base subscription is a better deal.

How fast is FastestVPN?

The available reviews do not establish a single speed figure that readers can expect. TechRadar describes connections as slow despite noting improvement; RTINGS reports very slow download and upload speeds in its testing. Results can differ with device, protocol, route, time and test method. The brand name is not evidence that this VPN will outperform a reader’s ordinary connection or other VPNs.

TechRadar lists OpenVPN, WireGuard and IKEv2 as supported protocols, along with AES-256 encryption. Its reported IKEv2 kill-switch leak is a protocol-specific caveat worth considering; it does not establish that every protocol or connection behaves the same way.

Does FastestVPN work with Netflix and other streaming services?

Streaming access is mixed and can change with the service, region, server and time. In TechRadar’s review, access worked for some services and libraries but failed for others. FastestVPN’s own FAQ also cautions that only limited Netflix libraries may be accessible.

TechRadar reported access TechRadar reported failures or complications
Netflix in the US, UK, Australia, Canada and Japan; Amazon Prime Video in Canada; Disney+ in the US, UK and Canada; DAZN in the US and Canada; YouTube in the UK; BBC iPlayer; ITVX Amazon in the US and Canada; DAZN in the UK; YouTube in Canada. TechRadar also noted problems in Japan and the removal of Australian servers affected other tests.

Which devices and network features are supported?

TechRadar lists native apps for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, plus Chrome and Firefox extensions. It says other platforms have setup guides, but describes some Linux and support instructions as awkward or outdated; Linux use may require a third-party client. The ten-connection allowance can be useful across a household, although extra simultaneous logins carry a listed per-device charge.

FastestVPN’s FAQ claims coverage across 50+ countries, 100+ locations and 800+ servers. TechRadar says its own count found 66 locations, fewer than the vendor’s stated 100+. These figures describe different claims and counts; the review does not establish that every advertised location was available in its assessment.

What does the no-logs audit actually establish?

Altius IT’s 2023 report says it compared FastestVPN’s no-logs statements with technical configurations and logs, inspected a sample of servers and logs, and used the mobile app in different modes. Its conclusion was limited to the review dates and material examined: it found no evidence in the reviewed configurations or system or service logs that could, independently or collectively, identify a specific person or that person’s VPN activity.

The report also describes information the service collects, including email addresses, connection dates, minimal connection statistics, and software analytics or diagnostics. “No logs” therefore needs qualification: the audit addressed identifiable VPN activity records in a selected historical sample; it did not say that the service collects no account or diagnostic data.

What are the privacy and security concerns?

RTINGS found no IP or DNS leak in its tests and no kill-switch leak in its reboot, internet-loss or crash tests. It also reported a TLS certificate-validation issue while connecting to Google.com. RTINGS cautioned that this test did not prove traffic interception or decryption; describe it as a reported validation concern, not confirmed surveillance or interception.

TechRadar notes that the no-logs audit is old and reports a kill-switch leak over IKEv2. RTINGS criticizes the privacy policy and the audit’s limited detail. These findings do not all measure the same thing: the audit covered selected configurations and records in 2023, while reviewers report their own tests and policy assessments. Taken together, they warrant caution rather than a claim that the VPN has been continuously verified or that a particular failure will affect every user.

TechRadar also raises a company-transparency concern: although FastestVPN presents itself as headquartered in the Cayman Islands, the reviewer found US addresses in company listings and little information about company leadership. That is a concern reported by TechRadar, not a settled legal finding about the company’s jurisdiction.

Who should choose FastestVPN?

  • It may be a fit if low listed cost and ten simultaneous connections are the main priorities, and you can tolerate uncertainty about current plan terms and variable performance.
  • Look more carefully at alternatives if you need consistently fast connections, access to a specific streaming catalog, or stronger and more recent independent verification of privacy practices.
  • Before subscribing, compare the total cost for the period you plan to use the service, including any paid add-ons, and check the checkout duration and refund conditions. Compare privacy-audit scope and date, performance under comparable tests, access for your exact streaming service and region, connection limits and refund terms.
