A VPN cannot make an otherwise ineligible location eligible for FanDuel, and FanDuel tells users to disconnect VPN software that masks their location. If you are physically somewhere FanDuel permits and the app still cannot verify you, troubleshoot your actual location signal rather than trying to bypass the check.
Why a VPN is not a way to access FanDuel from anywhere
FanDuel’s Terms of Use, updated July 16, 2026, require users depositing or entering a game to be physically in the United States or Canada and in a jurisdiction where participation is not prohibited by applicable law. The terms also set age and other eligibility conditions; users who do not meet them are not authorized to use the service.
The same terms identify using a proxy or other software or technology to misrepresent identity or location to enter or participate in contests as improper conduct. FanDuel says violations may lead to consequences including prize forfeiture, account cancellation, suspension, or termination. A VPN does not change your physical location or satisfy the applicable legal requirements.

FanDuel’s Sportsbook Privacy Policy says location-based services are used to verify a user’s location and support legal and regulatory compliance. FanDuel’s company FAQ says it partners with GeoComply for jurisdiction verification.

Availability can depend on more than a state or province being listed. FanDuel’s support guidance and FAQ point to precise-location restrictions, including examples involving tribal land, Louisiana parishes, and restricted areas in Washington, D.C. Check availability for the specific FanDuel product and your exact location; a state-level list alone may not establish that wagering is permitted where you are.

These steps are for users who believe they are physically in an eligible location. FanDuel’s Location Troubleshooting Tips include the instruction: “Disconnect from any VPN or external network.”

- Confirm the product and precise location are eligible. Check FanDuel’s current availability and local rules for the specific product you want to use. If you are in a restricted area, do not try to route around the restriction.
- Turn off location-masking connections. Disconnect VPN software and other external networks that may mask your location, as FanDuel Support advises.
- Check location access and connectivity. Make sure the device can determine its location and that the app or browser has the necessary location permission. Use a working connection and follow FanDuel’s current troubleshooting guidance.
- Restart and retry. Close and reopen the FanDuel app or browser; if the check still fails, restart your device and try again from your actual location.
- Contact FanDuel Support if the check continues to fail. Explain that you are physically in an eligible location and describe the device and product involved. Avoid spoofing GPS, changing IP addresses to evade a restriction, or using a remote desktop to mask where you are.
What this means for searches for “the best VPNs for FanDuel”
There is no supported VPN-provider ranking for lawful FanDuel access: FanDuel’s rules address location eligibility, and its own troubleshooting recommends disconnecting VPN software that masks location. Provider comparisons or claims that a VPN can “unblock” betting everywhere would not establish eligibility or guarantee that the location check will work.
FanDuel’s terms and availability guidance can change, and product rules may vary by jurisdiction. Consult the current official terms and support information before using the service.
