What Rao said about Sanatan and development

As quoted by Hindustan Times, Rao said, “Satya Sanatan, Nitya Nutan is not merely a slogan but the foundation of his vision.” He described Sanatan as a worldview involving truth, Dharma, duty, justice, compassion and public welfare, rather than only a form of worship.

He also called for modernization alongside respect for cultural inheritance: “Let us build a modern India without severing ties with our roots. In our pursuit of development, we must not lose sight of our civilizational heritage. Future generations should understand and value the rich tradition they have inherited.”

Rao described Kashi as the starting point of his political journey and as a symbol of India’s civilizational continuity. He said his goal was not a return to the past, but a modern India grounded in that heritage. These are his stated views as carried in the report; they do not establish the SSP’s full platform.

Hyderabad Mail provides a longer career account, identifying him as a 1986-batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre. It reports that he worked in Odisha Police and disaster response, joined the CBI in 2016, and served twice as interim chief—in October 2018 and January 2019. That chronology is attributed to Hyderabad Mail and has not been independently confirmed against an official biography here.

What is known about the Sarvajan Sanatan Party?

The available reporting establishes Rao’s appointment and summarizes themes from his Varanasi remarks, but it does not set out the SSP’s policies, electoral plans or organisational position in detail. His comments should therefore be read as his reported message, not as a complete description of the party’s programme.
