Evolv renewed and expanded its screening deployment at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte in March 2026. Evolv says the upgrade covers 19 Express Gen2 systems at fan entrances and adds two eXpedite bag-screening systems for employee entrances. The vendor also reports a 93% average clear rate over the first four years—but that figure is not an independent measure of detection accuracy and is not specific to Gen2.
What Evolv is adding at Bank of America Stadium
On March 3, 2026, Evolv announced a multi-year hardware and software subscription renewal with Bank of America Stadium. The company said it would upgrade nearly 20 Express systems to Gen2 and add eXpedite bag screeners, with the new hardware planned to be in place before Charlotte FC’s March 7 home opener. Evolv describes the 75,000-seat venue as host to Carolina Panthers games, Charlotte FC matches, concerts, and other events. Evolv’s announcement

Evolv’s later case study specifies the configuration as 19 Express Gen2 systems and two eXpedite systems for employee screening. It also describes MyEvolv Insights and real-time alerts through its portal and mobile tools. These are vendor-reported details; the available sources do not independently verify the systems’ day-to-day operation. Evolv’s stadium case study
The documented scope is therefore more specific than a general claim that “AI security” has replaced stadium screening: Express systems are assigned to fan entrances, while eXpedite units are for employee bag screening. Evolv describes the systems’ design and intended effects, but the venue’s published policy still describes searches and magnetometer screening.
#1 Best Overall
- Five-Zone Personnel Screening: Five detection zones help identify the approximate vertical location of detected metal objects for faster, more focused secondary screening.
- Single-Panel Open Design: Provides professional walk-through security screening without the enclosed appearance of a conventional archway metal detector.
- Adjustable 26-46 Inch Passage: Configurable passage width accommodates different entrances and security layouts; verify required clearance and applicable accessibility requirements.
- For Schools, Events and Facilities: Suitable for controlled-entry screening at schools, courthouses, stadiums, government buildings, transit facilities and event venues.
- Configurable Security Screening: Adjustable sensitivity allows operators to configure detection performance for site-specific screening policies; includes a 2-year limited manufacturer warranty.
What the reported 93% clear rate means
In a May 13, 2026 announcement, Evolv said Insights data showed an average 93% clear rate at fan entrances over the first four years. The company characterized this as seven in every 100 fans alerting at entrances. Its case-study footnote clarifies that the average is drawn from Gen1 customer systems at fan entrances—not a Gen2-specific stadium result. Evolv’s May 2026 announcement and metric
A clear rate describes how often people pass without an alert under the system’s operating conditions. It does not, by itself, show how accurately threats are detected, how many threats were stopped, or whether every alert reflects a prohibited item. Evolv says alert rates vary with sensitivity settings, clutter, operational conditions, and crowd flow; secondary screening depends on venue policy. The figure is vendor-reported, and the cited materials do not provide an independent audit or a stadium-specific accuracy study.
For context, Evolv also says the stadium hosts more than 40 large-scale events annually, screens tens of thousands of fans at each event, and that security teams have detected and tagged thousands of potential threat items since deployment. Those statements are also Evolv’s, and the announcement does not define “potential threat items” or provide an independent audit. Evolv’s announcement

Does Evolv replace the stadium’s regular security screening?
No such replacement is stated in the venue’s published rules. Bank of America Stadium says patrons and their belongings are searched on entry and that patrons are screened using magnetometers. A person who declines a search is denied entry. That policy describes the broader entry process; it does not say Evolv alone performs every check or that other screening has ended. Bag rules for fans entering the stadium
The stadium’s published policy permits transparent plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags up to 12 × 6 × 12 inches. It also permits small purses, bags, clutches, or fanny packs up to 4.5 × 6.5 inches. The stadium encourages fans to leave bags and other items requiring inspection at home. Bank of America Stadium’s bag policy
The Carolina Panthers’ 2026 game-day guide says security checks take place on the road before ticket-entry gates, and the clear-bag policy is enforced before fans enter the traditional ticket queues.
