Battlefield 6 gadgets are tied to four class roles: Assault pushes infantry positions, Engineer attacks and repairs vehicles, Support sustains and protects teammates, and Recon gathers intelligence. Each loadout has two gadget slots, so choose tools for the job your squad needs rather than chasing a universal “best” setup. The roster below is a dated snapshot from October 27, 2025; check the in-game loadout screen for current names, unlocks, and availability.
How Battlefield 6 gadgets and class loadouts work
Each class has two gadget slots, alongside its weapons, grenade, and training path. Gadgets can be offensive, defensive, or strategic, and their usefulness depends on the target and situation. EA’s loadout guide explains the slot structure; its class overview and class guide describe the roles.

Assault gadgets
Assault is built for aggressive infantry pushes. Its signature gadget is the Adrenaline Injector. Assault can also replace its second gadget slot with a second primary weapon from the Carbine, DMR, or Shotgun categories.

Engineer gadgets
Engineer is the vehicle-focused class: it attacks enemy vehicles and supports friendly ones. EA identifies Engineer as the only class that can repair friendly vehicles. The Repair Tool can also damage enemy vehicles over time.

Support gadgets
Support helps teammates stay alive and supplied, and can provide cover or intercept projectiles. EA’s April 9, 2026 Support guide gives practical placement advice for cover and interception equipment.

EA advises moving a downed teammate behind cover if an instant revive would leave you exposed. Its Support guide also distinguishes grenade interception from the Missile Intercept System’s role against missiles and some vehicle or mortar shells.

Recon gadgets
Recon specializes in stealth, scouting, and information gathering. Its signature Motion Sensor detects nearby enemies, vehicles, and gadgets when they are moving, according to EA’s class guide.

Choose gadgets by the squad’s task
These comparisons describe the gadgets’ listed functions, not a tested ranking. No measured current gadget tier list is established by the cited material.
To push infantry positions
Assault offers mobility, breaching, and explosive or incendiary area damage. Support can help teammates cross exposed sightlines with smoke, then revive or resupply them when the route is safe.

To protect or sustain a position
Match the Support tool to the incoming threat: Deployable Cover for small-arms exposure, Grenade Intercept System for hand-thrown or launched grenades, and Missile Intercept System for larger projectiles. Supply tools address ammunition, equipment recovery, and health support.
To attack or sustain vehicles
For enemy vehicles, choose an Engineer launcher or mine based on target, guidance, range, and armor angle. Against aircraft, consider an anti-air option; against land vehicles, guided locks, direct unguided shots, and mines serve different approaches. For friendly vehicles, the Repair Tool repairs them, while the vehicle supply crate supports nearby vehicles and shortens equipment cooldowns.
To find and mark targets
Use the Motion Sensor for nearby moving threats, the Recon Drone for spotting from its field of view, and the Laser Designator or Tracer Dart to mark vehicles and assist allied launcher locks. These tools provide different kinds of information; choose based on whether the squad needs infantry awareness or vehicle targeting support.
What may change in Season 5 and beyond
In its October 1, 2026 outlook, EA said it was exploring integration of subclass gadgets into the loot pool, naming Smoke Launcher, Supply Bag, Defibrillator, Breaching Dart, and Anti-Drone Gun. EA described these as exploratory changes that may be adjusted, delayed, or removed after testing and feedback; the outlook does not establish that they have shipped. Check official Season 5 and Beyond updates or the in-game loadout screen for confirmation.
