The Everdure CBEE652 is a discontinued four-zone vitroceramic electric cooktop, and public sources do not support a verified performance verdict on it. CHOICE keeps its expert rating, detailed scores and pros and cons behind membership. What can be assessed from public material is the hardware: zone layout, cut-out dimensions, electrical requirements, controls and cleaning rules. This guide covers those points and what to check before buying a used or old-stock unit.
Availability: the model is discontinued
CHOICE labels the CBEE652 as discontinued. The A$497 price on its model page is a historical listing; the year of that price is not stated on the accessible page, so it should not be read as a current selling price. Current retailer stock, warranty cover on a second-hand unit and spare-parts supply were not established from public sources. Confirm each of these with the seller or a service provider before committing.
What the CBEE652 is
The manufacturer’s manual describes the CBEE652 as a vitroceramic electric cooktop. It is not an induction model. Buyers coming from induction should expect a different heating method and different cookware behaviour, and the cookware restrictions in the care section below apply to this surface.

Cooking zones and layout
CHOICE describes four cooking zones with a mixed layout:

The accessible sources do not give the diameter of each zone. Measure your largest pans against the zone positions before assuming the layout suits your cooking.
Dimensions and cut-out
The two sources give the same measurements at different precision. CHOICE rounds the body to 59 × 52 cm; the manual gives the exact figures.

When replacing an existing cooktop, measure the opening itself rather than relying on the old unit’s label. Check that the opening is 560 × 490 mm, then confirm that the cabinet depth and clearances around the body allow a 46 mm-deep appliance to sit correctly. If the opening differs even slightly, do not force a fit; a mismatch usually means a different model or a modified bench.
Electrical installation
The manual lists a rated voltage of 230–240 Vac at 50 Hz and a rated input of 5900 W. The cooktop is directly wired to the mains supply rather than fitted with a plug. The manual states:

- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning
“Installation is only permitted by a licensed electrician, and carried out according to instructions provided by the manufacturer.”
As a rough check, 5900 W at 230–240 V draws about 25 A. This is a calculation from the rated figures, not a value the manual states. The rating is a maximum electrical input, not an energy-use estimate.
Before buying, ask an electrician to confirm the following:
- The existing circuit and cable can carry the 5900 W rating, as the manual requires.
- A means of isolating the cooktop from the supply is in place. The manual’s care instructions refer to an isolation switch.
- The cabinetry next to the cooktop can tolerate a temperature rise of at least 100°C above room ambient while the appliance is in use, as the manual specifies.

Whether these controls are easy to use or respond quickly has not been established from public sources.
Cleaning and care
Follow the manual’s sequence each time you clean the surface:
- Wait until the cooktop is cool and all residual-heat indicators are off.
- Disconnect it from the power outlet, or switch it off at the isolation switch.
- Clean the glass surface. The manual does not name a cleaner, scraper or brand. A cleaner or scraper made for ceramic glass cooktops is a generic choice that fits the manual’s instructions.
The manual also prohibits plastic, plastic-coated and aluminium cooking equipment on the appliance. Use stainless steel or other suitable cookware and avoid dragging pans across the glass.

CHOICE’s cooking-performance scores and expert rating are member-only, and the public material includes no independent test figures for this model. Its heating speed, evenness and efficiency therefore cannot be ranked against other cooktops from public sources. The only published numeric specifications are the electrical rating, cut-out and zone layout listed above.

Buying a used or old-stock unit
Because the model is discontinued, the purchase decision rests on condition and support rather than on current performance data. Check these before buying:
- Condition: whether the unit is new old stock or used, and whether the glass and controls are undamaged.
- Documentation: whether the installation and operation manual is included, or can be obtained.
- Seller terms: return policy and whether any warranty applies to a second-hand unit.
- Parts and service: confirmation from the seller or a service provider that parts and repair work are available.
- Installation: a quote from a licensed electrician that covers the points in the electrical section.
Who should consider the CBEE652
The CBEE652 is worth considering mainly when you need a like-for-like replacement for an existing 560 × 490 mm opening, the four-zone layout suits your cooking, and the seller can confirm condition, documentation and parts support. If you are choosing a cooktop from scratch, compare current models on the same axes: replacement fit, electrical compatibility, zone layout, condition and support, and independent test results. For the CBEE652, the last axis is the gap, so a current model with published test results is the safer choice for anyone who wants performance evidence.
