Short answer: Etihad’s A380 First Apartment is designed around a private lounge chair and a separate bed, with a personal vanity and access to onboard showers. Those are airline-described features, not a firsthand review of a particular flight. Without a disclosed trip, seat, fare and personal observations, calling this a “brutally honest review” would imply experience that cannot be substantiated. Here is what the product is, what a recent traveler reported, and what to check before booking.
What is the Etihad A380 First Apartment like?
Etihad describes the First Apartment as a spacious, private cabin space with a large leather lounge chair, a separate bed and a personal vanity. The airline lists privacy doors and says the chair reclines into a fully flat bed. Its stated bedding and service features include turn-down service, a natural-fibre mattress, duvet and pillow, and designer loungewear; the apartment also has a touchscreen and USB charging. These are Etihad’s product descriptions, not independently verified observations of every flight. See Etihad’s First experience page and its First Apartment details.
Etihad says onboard showers are available on its A380. A shower is a shared onboard amenity, not a private ensuite belonging to each First Apartment. Do not confuse the Apartment with The Residence: Etihad describes The Residence as a separate, three-room product with a living area, bedroom and ensuite shower.

ST Travel published a report on July 24, 2026, about a July 2026 Abu Dhabi–Tokyo flight in seat 4A. The creator’s description reports a fare of AED 22,955 (USD 6,250) and says the flight included dining, use of the onboard lounge, a bed, a shower and breakfast. That is one creator-reported itinerary and fare, not a current quote, typical price, or evidence of what every passenger will experience. See the ST Travel report.

Is Etihad’s A380 First Apartment worth it?
There is no universal value verdict without the itinerary and price. The separate chair-and-bed arrangement, privacy features and shower access may matter to a traveler seeking a more spacious, distinctive long-haul experience. Whether those features justify the fare or points depends on what the same specific trip costs in alternatives, the traveler’s priorities and whether the scheduled aircraft actually offers the Apartment.

- Check the ground experience separately; the cabin descriptions and trip reports cited here do not establish a universal airport or lounge experience.
- Compare only options available on the same itinerary and date. The available information here does not establish competitor performance or current market pricing.
Does Etihad still fly the A380 on your route?
Etihad’s official A380 page lists London, Tokyo, Toronto, Paris and Singapore among destinations served on selected A380 flights. “Selected flights” matters: a city-pair listing does not mean every departure uses an A380, and aircraft assignments can change. Check the aircraft and cabin for the exact travel date and flight number on Etihad’s A380 page, then verify your booking details again before travel.
- Search your exact date and flight number. Confirm that the itinerary is scheduled on an A380 rather than relying on the destination list alone.
- Check the cabin shown for that flight. Confirm the First Apartment is offered and available for sale on the specific service you intend to book.
- Recheck close to departure. Aircraft and cabin assignments are subject to change; a route listing is not a promise that a particular flight will operate with the A380.
What can—and cannot—be called a review?
A genuinely firsthand review should identify the route and travel date, seat, fare or award cost, and the writer’s own observations about service, food, sleep, shower use, privacy and value. No such personal trip details are established here, so this article does not claim to have tested the Apartment. The official descriptions explain what Etihad says the cabin includes; dated trip reports offer individual travelers’ accounts, not a substitute for the writer’s own experience.
