The Espressotoria Capino is a discontinued capsule machine for Espressotoria System capsules, not Nespresso-compatible pods. CHOICE lists a 1 L water reservoir and thermoblock heating, but its detailed performance scores are available only to members, so there is no public test result to support a verdict on cup quality or speed. For an existing owner, the key question is whether the required capsules remain convenient to buy.
What is the Espressotoria Capino?
The Capino is a compact capsule coffee machine that uses Espressotoria’s proprietary System capsule format. CHOICE lists thermoblock heating, a 1 L reservoir, dimensions of 24 × 13 × 39 cm (H × W × D), and a weight of 5 kg. The public listing establishes specifications, not how the Capino performed in testing, so a firm assessment of coffee quality, consistency, or reliability cannot be made from that information. What capsules fit the Espressotoria Capino?

The FAQ names Woolworths, Coles, and independent supermarkets in Australia, and Countdown and Foodstuffs in New Zealand, as capsule retailers. These are retailer channels named by the brand, not confirmation of current local stock; check with a nearby retailer before relying on a particular blend or ongoing supply.
How the Capino works
Espressotoria’s use guide describes a straightforward capsule workflow: fill the tank with cold tap water, warm the machine, insert a compatible capsule, and use the programmable pour function. Should you buy or keep one?
Because the model is discontinued, treat the Capino as a second-hand or already-owned machine rather than a product with confirmed new availability. Before buying a used unit, check its condition and whether the water tank, capsule bin, and other parts are present; current replacement-part availability is not established by the available listings.
- It may suit you if: you already have access to genuine Espressotoria System capsules, want a 1 L reservoir, and are comfortable preparing milk separately.
- Look elsewhere if: you want a machine sold new with confirmed support, need Nespresso-compatible capsules, or prefer integrated milk frothing.
For current owners, capsule access is the practical deciding factor: the machine depends on the Espressotoria format, and retailer availability can change. For prospective buyers, the discontinued status and lack of a publicly visible performance score make condition and consumable availability more important than the historical listed price.
