The Espressotoria Adesso is a discontinued capsule machine for Espressotoria System capsules. CHOICE lists a 1 L water reservoir, programmable water amounts and thermoblock heating, but its public listing does not show the expert rating or test scores needed to support a verdict on taste or brewing performance. The main buying questions are whether you can reliably get the proprietary capsules and whether the condition and warranty of the particular machine make sense.
What is the Espressotoria Adesso?
The Adesso is a capsule espresso coffee machine that uses Espressotoria System capsules. CHOICE classifies it as discontinued, so it is not a model to assume is available new from current retailers. If considering one, verify the exact model, whether it is new or used, and what the seller actually includes.
CHOICE lists a $165 price, but the page does not display a publication date; that figure is not a current market quotation. Its two-year warranty listing likewise does not establish that a particular used or remaining-stock machine is still covered. Ask the seller for the warranty terms that apply to that unit.

Which capsules fit the Adesso?
The Adesso manual listing identifies the machine with the Espressotoria System capsule format. The manufacturer says its system requires genuine Espressotoria System capsules; it distinguishes them from Vittoria capsules, which are a separate Nespresso-compatible format. Do not assume that a capsule labelled Nespresso-compatible will fit or work in the Adesso.
The manufacturer also says it does not know of a reusable pod that fits and warns that using other capsules will void warranty. This is manufacturer guidance, not an independently tested compatibility result. If capsule availability is uncertain where you live, check for capsules explicitly identified as Espressotoria System before buying the machine.

What is it like to live with?
Simple cup-size controls
The Adesso manual listing describes separate small- and large-cup buttons, with programmable water amounts. That provides a way to set dispensing volume, but the available public information does not establish how consistently the machine brews or whether its coffee suits a particular taste.

Energy-saving mode and used capsules
The manual listing says the machine enters an energy-saving mode after five minutes. Its used-capsule container holds around 10 capsules, so frequent drinkers may need to empty it regularly. These are manual-listed operating details, not independent performance test results.

Milk drinks require extra equipment
CHOICE lists milk frothing as sold separately and does not list a milk jug with the Adesso. Espressotoria describes a separate milk frother for its system. Treat frothing as an optional accessory, not a built-in Adesso feature or an included item; confirm compatibility and availability for the specific accessory before purchasing.
Cleaning and descaling guidance
Espressotoria’s FAQ gives general system-machine care guidance: flush the machine before first use and after a long period unused, rinse removable parts daily, and descale every 300 cups. The 300-cup interval is the manufacturer’s general guidance, not a verified Adesso-specific maintenance schedule. The FAQ says not to clean with solutions.

The manufacturer’s current manuals page displays Piccolo and Capino manuals, not an Adesso manual. For the Adesso’s exact descaling procedure and troubleshooting steps, consult its model-specific manual listing rather than assuming instructions for newer machines are identical.

The Adesso may suit someone who already has dependable access to Espressotoria System capsules and wants a compact machine with programmable water amounts. Its listed footprint is 26 × 13 × 39 cm and its listed weight is 5 kg. Those published specifications do not, by themselves, establish brew quality or long-term reliability.

CHOICE’s visible page does not provide the test scores needed for a comparative performance recommendation.
