The Epson WorkForce WF-2930DWF is a compact A4 inkjet that prints, scans, copies and faxes, with a 30-page automatic document feeder and automatic double-sided printing. For a home office that handles mixed everyday paperwork, that feature set is its main appeal. Its rated print speeds are modest, and its ink is sold in individual cartridges, so running cost matters as much as the headline features.
This assessment is based on Epson’s European and UK product pages, the Epson WF-2930 series user’s guide and Epson’s support pages. We have not tested the printer ourselves, so nothing below describes measured photo quality, noise, reliability or setup time. Where a figure comes from Epson, we say so.
What the WF-2930DWF is
Epson positions the WF-2930DWF as a microbusiness multifunction printer. Its product page states: “High quality print, copy, scan and fax in one machine, plus 30-page ADF.” That is vendor wording, but it accurately describes the four functions and the feeder. The machine uses a four-colour inkjet engine with pigment black and dye-based colour inks. Epson lists a minimum droplet size of 3 pl and a maximum print resolution of 5,760 × 1,440 dpi.

Epson publishes two sets of speed figures, and they answer different questions. The ISO/IEC 24734 ratings are the standardised measure that lets you compare machines on the same basis. The headline plain-paper figures are higher and reflect a faster print mode. Keep them separate when you read the product page.

The ISO ratings are the ones to plan around. A 20-page monochrome report printed double-sided at the rated 6 A4 pages/minute takes roughly the time the rating implies, plus warm-up and handling. Epson’s separate figure for a 10 × 15 cm photo on Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper is 42 seconds. Epson states that figure on its product page; it is not a standard test and we have not verified it.
Double-sided printing
Automatic duplex printing is part of the specification and is listed for A4 plain paper. The UK listing describes duplex as working with the single 100-sheet standard tray. Epson’s published specification does not state duplex support for other sizes or media, so treat A4 plain paper as the confirmed case.
Scanning, copying and the 30-page feeder
The scanner uses a contact image sensor (CIS) with a listed optical resolution of 1,200 × 2,400 dpi. The 30-page automatic document feeder (ADF) handles multi-page scanning, copying and faxing. Epson specifies single-sided ADF scanning at 4.5 images per minute at 200 dpi.

Epson’s specification does not state that the ADF scans both sides of a sheet in one pass. If you regularly scan double-sided originals, plan to scan them one side at a time or check the current specification before you buy.
Fax
Fax is one of the four functions in Epson’s product description. The sources used here do not describe fax-specific features such as memory size, speed dial limits or line requirements, so check the user’s guide for those details before relying on fax as part of your workflow.
Paper handling
The UK listing gives one paper tray with a 100-sheet standard capacity. Epson lists these paper sizes: A4, A5, A6, B5, B6, C6, DL and No. 10 envelopes, Letter, and common photo sizes.

- Heavy media: Epson states that 300 g/m² applies to Epson Ultra Glossy Photo Paper where relevant.
- Third-party media: Epson notes that third-party media may not be compatible. Check the paper’s weight and type against the range before buying bulk stock.
Connecting and printing from a phone
Epson lists these connection options:
- Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n)
- Wi-Fi Direct
- USB 2.0 (Hi-Speed USB)
Mobile printing is supported through Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service and Mopria Scan, Epson Smart Panel, and Epson Connect Email Print and Remote Print Driver. Epson’s specification confirms these services are listed. Whether each one works on your specific phone, operating system or network should be checked against Epson’s support downloads before purchase.

Ink: the cartridges and what they cost to run
The WF-2930DWF uses Epson Pineapple 604 cartridges: black, cyan, magenta and yellow. Each colour is sold separately, and there are standard and XL sizes. The UK catalogue lists these examples:

These yields are Epson’s catalogue figures. Real results depend on how much of each page is covered in ink, so a text-heavy office printer and a page with large colour areas will use very different amounts. The catalogue does not state the test method, so treat the yields as a comparison between Epson’s own options rather than a guaranteed page count.

ReadyPrint Flex subscription
Epson’s UK listing advertises ReadyPrint Flex, an ink subscription, with an introductory offer for new customers. The listing describes this as a six-month offer. Offer terms, eligibility and availability vary by country and can change, so read the current terms on Epson’s site before assuming you qualify. Subscription is optional; the printer works with ordinary cartridges.

Epson’s UK listing gives the dimensions as 375 × 300 × 218 mm and the weight as 5.2 kg. The colour panel is listed at 3.7 cm. These are manufacturer specifications.

Who the WF-2930DWF suits
On the published specifications, the WF-2930DWF is a reasonable fit if most of these apply:
- You want print, copy, scan and fax in one A4 machine.
- You print regularly double-sided on A4 plain paper.
- You scan multi-page single-sided documents and want a feeder to handle them.
- You print mainly from phones, tablets or laptops over Wi-Fi.
- Your volume is modest, and you are comfortable with rated speeds in the 5–10 page-per-minute range.
It is a weaker fit if you need fast colour output, regularly scan double-sided originals through the feeder, or depend on paper types outside Epson’s stated range. In those cases, compare the ISO speeds, ADF duplex support and media compatibility of other machines before deciding.

On Epson’s specifications, the WF-2930DWF is a practical four-function inkjet for a home office with modest volume. Its strongest points are the 30-page ADF, automatic A4 duplex printing and the range of mobile printing services. Its limits are the rated speeds, single-sided ADF scanning as specified, and ink costs that depend on which cartridge sizes you buy. Confirm current prices, cartridge codes and promotions before buying, since these change.
