If the concealment, investigation and shifting truths of Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3 have you looking for another Indian suspense film, these five offer different kinds of mystery without giving away their key turns. The recommendations follow the premises reported by Hindustan Times on October 3, 2026. Its article says the Hindi film, also called Drishyam The Conclusion, opened in theatres on October 2, with Devgn returning as Vijay Salgaonkar; it describes the installment as having an original script and an ending different from the Malayalam version.

Five thrillers to watch after Drishyam 3

Pick by the kind of suspense you want: a concealed truth under investigation, a web of deception, a missing-person mystery, a clue-led police case or a complaint that grows darker. These are different routes into suspense, not a ranking of which film has the best twist.

Jaane Jaan (2023): a concealed truth under investigation

Set in Kalimpong, the film follows Maya as she tries to protect herself and her daughter after her abusive former husband reappears and dies following a confrontation. Her neighbor Naren helps conceal what happened, while police officer Karan investigates the disappearance. The tension comes from watching concealment and investigation move against each other.

Sujoy Ghosh directed the film, which the October 3, 2026 Hindustan Times article says is on Netflix. It is based on Keigo Higashino’s novel The Devotion of Suspect X—the same book that, according to that article, inspired the original Drishyam. That connection makes this the most direct choice here if you are drawn to the source-story link as well as the battle of wits.

Andhadhun (2018): deception that keeps changing shape

Akash is a pianist who pretends to be blind. A performance at a retired actor’s home pulls him into a murder and a dangerous situation in which the people around him believe he cannot see. The premise sets up a tense imbalance: what Akash knows, what others think he knows and what each person chooses to reveal.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Andhadhun is the pick for deception, manipulation and turns in the balance of power. The October 3, 2026 article lists JioHotstar as its streaming service.

Kahaani (2012): a missing-person search shaped by Kolkata

Pregnant Vidya Bagchi arrives in Kolkata looking for her missing husband. Each lead deepens the mystery rather than making the search straightforward, and the story’s setting during Durga Puja gives the investigation a distinct city-and-festival atmosphere.

Sujoy Ghosh directed Kahaani. The October 3, 2026 article lists Prime Video as the service carrying it. Choose it if you want a mystery built around following clues through a place, not a premise centered on a single concealed incident.

Por Thozhil (2023): a procedural built on clues and observation

A young police officer is paired with an experienced, difficult colleague to investigate murders of young women. The emphasis is on reading clues and behavioral patterns rather than relying on action, giving the investigation its forward momentum.

Directed by Vignesh Raja, Por Thozhil suits viewers who want the case-solving process to be central to the suspense. The October 3, 2026 article lists SonyLIV as its streaming service.

Maharaja (2024): an odd theft complaint with darker stakes

A barber goes to a police station to report the theft of a metal dustbin he calls Lakshmi. The unusual object and the insistence on reporting it raise an immediate question; the reason behind the complaint becomes darker as the story unfolds. Knowing more would spoil the film’s carefully managed mystery, so that premise is best left there.

Nithilan Saminathan directed Maharaja. The October 3, 2026 article names Netflix as its streaming service, subject to the same territory and catalog caveat above.
