The available material reports that Owen Wilson was announced as an incoming independent non-executive director, subject to regulatory approvals, but it does not establish an 11% valuation calculation. What Owen Wilson’s appointment does—and does not—establish
A syndicated report attributed to S&P Capital IQ and the ASX says Endeavour Group announced Wilson as an incoming independent non-executive director on 22 September 2026, subject to required regulatory approvals. The report says he spent 11 years at REA Group: four as CFO and seven as CEO, with his CEO tenure ending in October 2025. Because the available report is not the original issuer announcement, treat the appointment as announced or incoming rather than completed. Endeavour’s investor-relations site is the primary place to check company announcements and governance updates. A board appointment can add relevant experience and oversight, but the announcement alone does not show how much, if anything, it should change a share’s fair value. It is not evidence for a specific discount to fair value or a forecast of future returns.

No identified source substantiates the headline’s exact 11% figure with a valuation method, fair-value estimate, reference share price, and calculation date. Without those inputs, it is impossible to reproduce the percentage or tell whether it represents upside to estimated fair value, a discount to it, or another measure.

Other point-in-time estimates illustrate why a percentage needs its working attached. Morningstar Australia reported a fair-value estimate of A$5.40 and a 40% discount at 12 June 2026. A separate Fair Value Calculator page showed estimated fair value of A$2.47 against a A$2.97 price, describing 17% downside as of 1 October 2026. These are distinct third-party model outputs, not a consensus and not confirmation of an 11% discount; their dates and underlying assumptions differ. What to check in any EDV valuation
- Price and date: Identify the share price used and the date it applied. A fair-value gap changes as the market price moves.
- Method and horizon: Find out whether the estimate uses discounted cash flow, earnings multiples, or another method, and which forecast period it covers.
- Key assumptions: Check forecasts for earnings and cash flow, discount rate, terminal value, and treatment of debt and significant items.
- Who produced it: Distinguish a third-party model estimate from company guidance or an independently reproducible calculation. A valuation estimate is not a guaranteed future price.
What Endeavour’s preliminary F26 results add to the picture
Endeavour’s preliminary, unaudited F26 results announcement reported A$12,212 million in sales, A$845 million in underlying EBIT, and A$363 million in underlying NPAT. It also reported expected net significant item expenses of A$372 million before tax and A$311 million after tax. Underlying results and significant items should not be conflated: the announcement presents the underlying measures separately from the expected significant item expenses. A reader assessing value should use the company’s full results and its explanation of those items, rather than infer a share valuation from headline operating figures alone.

- Open Endeavour Group’s investor-relations page and check the latest ASX announcements for the original board appointment filing, any approval or commencement update, and the full F26 results.
- Locate the source of the 11% claim. Confirm that it names a fair-value estimate, the EDV market price and date used, and the method and assumptions behind the estimate.
- Recalculate the stated relationship using the source’s own definitions. Do not treat percentages from different models or dates as comparable unless their inputs and calculation conventions are clear.
- Update the share price and company information before making a decision; both market prices and valuation inputs can change.
