Elon Musk has reportedly agreed to rename SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI, but the available reporting does not establish that the change has taken effect. Forbes reported on October 4, 2026, that Musk replied, “Yes, we will make that change” to a user who suggested the new name. At the time Forbes published its report, SpaceXAI branding was still visible on the company’s website and social accounts, and no timeline had been announced.
What Musk reportedly said about the SpaceXAI name
Forbes reported on October 4, 2026, that Musk responded “Yes, we will make that change” when a user asked about renaming SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI. Yahoo Tech’s syndicated Forbes report described the reply as a plan, not a completed rebrand.
Axios also reported that Musk called SpaceX a “super intelligence company” and said he would rename SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI. Axios AM’s October 4, 2026, newsletter provides that account.

Why the name SpaceXSI is being proposed
The “following Trump’s lead” description refers to President Donald Trump’s recent promotion of “SI,” short for “super intelligence,” as an alternative to “AI.” In a September 29, 2026, press gaggle, Trump said: “We’ve changed the name officially today. We’ve changed the name, Steve, officially to SI. Okay? SI, like SI, SI instead of AI. You know what that means? Super Intelligence.” The Roll Call / Factba.se transcript records Trump’s remarks; it does not confirm a formal name change by SpaceXAI.

Has SpaceXAI officially changed its name?
The reports establish a stated intention, not an implemented public-facing or legal change. Forbes said SpaceXAI branding remained on the company’s website and social accounts when it published its report, and that no timeline or further details had been provided. That is a time-specific observation from October 4, 2026, not confirmation of the company’s status afterward.
