The Electrolux ETE4607SA is a 460 L gross-capacity, frost-free top-mount refrigerator originally sold in Australia. Its useful net capacity is 426 L, and its published energy figure is 260 kWh per year under AS/NZS 4474.2:2009. It is not a newly tested recommendation: CHOICE lists it as discontinued and dates its test to 2016. Whether it is worth buying now depends on the exact unit, price, fit and service support you can confirm.
What kind of fridge is the ETE4607SA?
Electrolux Australia describes the ETE4607SA-L as a stainless-steel, frost-free top-mount refrigerator. The freezer is above the refrigerator compartment, and the listed features include electronic touch controls and automatic ice trays. Electrolux still has a product page for the model, but that does not establish that new stock is currently available. CHOICE labels the ETE4607SA a “discontinued model.”
The suffix matters when checking stock, manuals, warranty documents or parts. Confirm the full model name and product number on the appliance’s rating plate rather than relying on “ETE4607SA” alone.

Electrolux gives two capacity measures. The 460 L figure is gross capacity; the fact sheet lists 426 L net capacity, divided between a 327 L refrigerator and a 99 L freezer. Gross and net figures are not interchangeable: use the net split when judging how much space is available for food.

These figures are from Electrolux’s product specifications and fact sheet. The relatively smaller net freezer compartment is worth considering if you routinely store large frozen items or buy in bulk.
Will it fit in your kitchen?
Electrolux publishes overall dimensions of 699 mm wide × 773 mm deep × 1,725 mm high. The cabinet itself is 693 mm wide × 641 mm deep × 1,705 mm high. With the door open to 90 degrees, the listed depth is 1,360 mm.

Measure the intended space, the delivery route and the room needed to open the door. Check the manual’s installation instructions for required ventilation and clearances; cabinet dimensions alone are not an installation guide. Electrolux lists its ETK7000 70 cm trim kit as compatible with ETE4607SA, but check the kitchen design, kit availability and installation instructions before buying.

Electrolux lists energy consumption of 260 kWh per year and a 5-star rating under AS/NZS 4474.2:2009. CHOICE repeats those figures for the model. Treat them as published values under that named standard, not a prediction of what a particular household will use: actual consumption depends on conditions such as settings, room temperature and how often the doors are opened.

The manufacturer lists electronic touch controls, holiday and eco modes, boost and fast-ice functions, a drink-chill alarm, fridge and freezer door alarms, LED lighting, a telescopic deli-compartment runner and twist ice-and-serve trays. Electrolux also promotes FreshZone double-insulated crispers and temperature recovery after door openings; those are manufacturer descriptions, not independently established performance results in the publicly available review information.
What does the independent review evidence show?
CHOICE lists a 2016 test year, the model’s discontinued status and a listed price of $1,749. That price is historical, not a current offer. On the accessible page, detailed scores for temperature performance, noise, reliability and satisfaction are restricted to members, so the public information does not establish a score or recommendation.

ProductReview.com.au shows a 3.4 score across nine reviews. The owner accounts are mixed: some praise cooling, layout, lighting, appearance or quiet operation; others report noise, limited freezer space, a difficult-to-clean water collection area, perceived plastic quality or handle concerns. These are individual, self-selected experiences, not controlled testing or a reliable estimate of failure rates.

It may suit a buyer who wants a top-mount layout, needs the published 426 L net capacity and can verify that a particular unit fits and is supported. The available public evidence is not enough to call it a current best buy or establish how it compares with newer refrigerators on temperature control, noise or reliability.

Before committing, check the following for the exact unit and purchase:
- Confirm whether it is new, used or refurbished, its full suffix and product number, and the seller’s return terms.
- Compare the delivered price with current alternatives using net capacity and refrigerator/freezer split, not gross litres alone.
- Verify installation measurements and clearances, including the open-door space and the path into the kitchen.
- Compare energy figures only when they use the same measurement standard.
- Ask what warranty applies to that purchase date and seller, and confirm local service and parts availability.
- If buying used, inspect the seals, handles, controls, ice trays and both compartments in operation; ask for the unit’s age and service history.
Warranty, parts and support for existing owners
Electrolux’s specifications list a 2-year domestic warranty plus an additional 3 years for the sealed refrigeration system only. Those listed terms may not apply to every purchase date or current owner. Electrolux says its warranty benefits are additional to Australian Consumer Law guarantees; check the applicable terms for the actual purchase, seller and fault.
Electrolux provides manuals, troubleshooting, repair booking and genuine-parts access. Its parts store includes a door part named for ETE4607SA-R, but instructs buyers to verify the appliance model and product number. Do not assume that a part listed for one suffix fits every ETE4607SA unit.
