eLearn Punjab is Punjab, Pakistan’s government-backed digital repository of curriculum textbooks. Developed through the School Education Department (SED), Punjab Curriculum & Textbook Board (PCTB) and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), it puts PCTB books online and adds videos, simulations, audio, animations and assessment resources. It is designed for pupils, parents, teachers and schools—not as a general commercial e-book store.
What eLearn Punjab is
eLearn Punjab digitizes Punjab’s official curriculum materials. SED describes it as an educational app and repository of textbooks developed under the national curriculum, while PITB documents the digitization of PCTB books and the addition of interactive learning components.
The core resource is therefore the Punjab Board curriculum: students can look for an eLearn Punjab textbook, a Punjab board textbook PDF, or a class-specific science or mathematics book rather than searching a general online bookstore.

What students can access
The current eLearn Punjab homepage snapshot reports 30 Science and Mathematics textbooks for Grades 1–12. The same snapshot lists:
- 13,047 video lectures
- 592 simulations
- 2,100 minutes of audio
- 1,830 animations
These figures describe the site snapshot and should not be treated as a permanent inventory. A separate PITB launch release dated 16 October 2018 described the mobile app as containing 28 Science and Mathematics textbooks for Grades 6–12, alongside the multimedia counts reported at that launch. The different totals reflect different rollout dates and scopes, not necessarily an error.
| Source and date | Textbook scope reported | Multimedia reported |
|---|---|---|
| eLearn Punjab homepage, current site snapshot | 30 Science and Mathematics books, Grades 1–12 | 13,047 videos; 592 simulations; 2,100 audio minutes; 1,830 animations |
| PITB mobile-app launch release, 16 October 2018 | 28 Science and Mathematics books, Grades 6–12 | The release reports the same multimedia counts for that launch |
Beyond the headline science and mathematics collection, the site’s content pages show Chemistry, Biology, primary-grade materials, teacher guides, story books and other resources. The exact subjects and grades available can vary by page and update, so check the relevant grade and subject listing before relying on a particular book.
More than downloadable books
Video lessons
PITB describes topic-based video lectures, including material in local languages. A video can provide an explanation that a scanned or PDF textbook cannot, particularly for a difficult mathematics procedure or a science concept.

Interactive simulations and animations are intended to make abstract processes visible. They can supplement a textbook diagram, but they do not replace reading the chapter, working examples or completing teacher-assigned practice.
Audio material
The homepage’s audio total is expressed in minutes, not in a count of files. That distinction matters when comparing the repository with another service: the published figure measures listening time.
Assessment and classroom resources
The implementation material describes online assessment tools, formative-assessment modules, lesson plans and classroom activity lists. These features support teachers who want to use the textbook alongside guided practice and checks for understanding.

How to find an eLearn Punjab textbook
- Open the official eLearn Punjab website or app. Availability of a particular app package or store listing can change, so use the current official entry point.
- Choose the grade or class. Start with the learner’s Punjab curriculum level rather than a broad subject search.
- Select the subject. Look for the required PCTB title, such as a class 9 science book or class 10 math textbook.
- Open the chapter or book resource. Use the textbook for the syllabus sequence, then select any linked video, simulation, animation or audio resource.
- Use assessment features where available. A quiz or formative check is most useful after the learner has attempted the chapter exercises.
Labels and coverage can change as the repository is updated. If a familiar title is missing, verify the grade, subject and edition rather than assuming that the entire service is unavailable.
Online and offline access
PITB says free online content is available through the website and that offline content was developed for parents and students. “Offline content” does not establish that every book, video or interactive feature can be downloaded on every device. Treat offline availability as package- and feature-dependent, and confirm the option shown in the current official app or site.
For limited connectivity, a practical approach is to obtain permitted offline material when connected, keep the textbook chapters available locally, and reserve streaming features for times when a stable connection exists.

Who runs the repository
eLearn Punjab is a public education project rather than a private textbook marketplace:
- School Education Department (SED), Punjab: identifies eLearn as an educational app and official repository.
- Punjab Curriculum & Textbook Board (PCTB): supplies the curriculum textbooks being digitized.
- Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB): provides the technology and documents the digitization, multimedia, assessment and classroom-support work.
The 2018 PITB launch release says the content was reviewed twice—by education experts and PCTB subject specialists. PITB Chairman Dr. Umar Saif described the initiative as making textbooks freely available online with supplementary material; the release preserves his wording, including the spelling “supplementry.”

Lesson preparation
Teachers can align a lesson with the PCTB chapter, then select a relevant local-language lecture, animation or simulation. Lesson plans and classroom activity lists described by PITB can help turn the digital material into a structured class sequence.
Formative checks
Use an assessment after instruction to identify misconceptions before moving to the next topic. Digital checks work best alongside written solutions, discussion and the textbook’s own exercises.
Blended and low-connectivity teaching
A school can use the online repository when connectivity is reliable and offline material when it is not. A shared classroom display or a teacher’s device can make a multimedia item available to a whole class, while students use the book for independent revision.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Strengths and limits for independent learners
- Strength: curriculum provenance—students are working from PCTB materials rather than an unauthorised summary.
- Strength: multiple formats, including text, video, audio and interactive media.
- Strength: free online access, with offline material developed for parents and students.
- Limit: the published inventory is a snapshot; it does not guarantee that every grade, subject or app feature is currently present.
- Limit: multimedia cannot substitute for solving problems, writing answers and receiving teacher feedback.
- Limit: the available language, download and assessment options may differ by resource.
What to verify before depending on a specific book
No official inventory in the available public material establishes every 2026 grade, subject, app-store status or offline package. Before planning a course or distributing a link, verify:
Recommended Free Tools
- the exact grade and subject listing;
- the textbook title and edition shown by the official service;
- whether the needed chapter opens online;
- whether a download or offline option is offered for that resource;
- whether the accompanying video, simulation or assessment still loads on the intended device.
eLearn Punjab compared with other textbook portals
For a meaningful comparison, examine official curriculum provenance, grade and subject coverage, multimedia and assessment depth, online/offline behavior, language support, update date, and whether the service is optimized for classroom teaching or solo study. A portal with more titles is not automatically a better match if it lacks the PCTB book required for a Punjab course.
The Bottom Line
eLearn Punjab is Pakistan’s Punjab government-backed route to free PCTB digital textbooks, enriched with multimedia and classroom tools. Use it as the curriculum source, check the current grade-and-subject listing, and treat the published book and feature counts as date-specific snapshots.
