It may suit listeners who want network streaming or a two-speaker Wi-Fi stereo setup. It is a less certain fit if you need a dependable TV speaker, wired input, or stereo pairing over Bluetooth. Edifier’s published specifications describe its hardware, but the available information does not establish independent sound-quality results.
What is the Edifier MS50A?
The MS50A is a compact active speaker that connects to Wi-Fi through the Edifier Home app and also supports Bluetooth playback. Edifier lists AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, and Alexa integration on its MS50A product page. Alexa support is limited to specified countries, so availability depends on your market.
It has no built-in microphone. Edifier describes that as a privacy feature; its product information says voice control can instead be used with an Alexa-enabled device or Echo.

The product specifications help identify the speaker’s stated hardware, but they do not establish how it sounds in a particular room or how it compares with other speakers. No independent listening or measurement results are established here.
How the MS50A connects and streams
Wi-Fi and streaming services
Wi-Fi setup uses the Edifier Home app. Edifier’s current product page lists AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect, as well as Alexa integration in supported countries. Check the product page for Alexa availability in your country before relying on it.

Bluetooth
Bluetooth is available as a separate playback option. The distinction matters if your main source is a phone or tablet: the MS50A supports both network-based streaming and Bluetooth, but Edifier’s documentation does not establish a wired audio input.
Top-panel controls and reset
The user manual describes top controls for changing mode, track navigation, play or pause, muting or power, and volume. It says holding the mode control starts Wi-Fi setup or Bluetooth pairing, depending on the mode. Holding play/pause for six seconds restores factory settings. These instructions come from Edifier’s manual; control behavior may differ with firmware or app revisions. The manual’s compatibility statement reads, “The MS50A is compatible with Apple AirPlay.” Edifier’s current product page describes AirPlay 2 as part of its feature list.

Can two MS50A speakers make a stereo pair?
Yes, Edifier documents stereo grouping for two MS50A units in Wi-Fi mode. The support instructions call for both speakers and the mobile device to be on the same network, current firmware, and channel assignment in the Edifier Home app. Edifier’s FAQ says stereo grouping is available only in Wi-Fi mode, not Bluetooth mode.
- Connect both MS50A speakers and your mobile device to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Make sure both speakers have current firmware.
- In the Edifier Home app, create a stereo group and assign one speaker as left and the other as right.
Edifier’s Wi-Fi Speaker Setup instructions and MS50A FAQ document the process and mode restriction. If you specifically want a conventional Bluetooth stereo pair, that restriction is a significant limitation.

Can you use the MS50A with a TV?
Edifier says Bluetooth TV playback may work if the television supports Bluetooth speaker output, but it does not guarantee compatibility with every Bluetooth chipset. Its FAQ says connecting a TV over Wi-Fi is generally not possible. Treat Bluetooth TV use as conditional rather than dependable; the official materials do not establish the MS50A as a Wi-Fi TV speaker.

Edifier’s user manual lists the speaker, a quickstart guide, and a power cable. It recommends using the included cable.

Who should consider the Edifier MS50A?
- Consider it if: you want a speaker with both Wi-Fi streaming and Bluetooth playback, use a supported service such as AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, or TIDAL Connect, or may add a second MS50A for Wi-Fi stereo.
- Check carefully if: Alexa is important to you, because Edifier limits availability by country; or TV playback is a priority, because Bluetooth compatibility is not guaranteed.
- Look for more evidence before choosing it if: your decision depends on sound-quality rankings, measured latency, a wired input, or a direct comparison with another model. Those points are not established by Edifier’s specifications and documentation cited here.
For a buying comparison, focus on streaming-service compatibility, whether you need Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for your sources, two-speaker grouping requirements, physical fit, and independent listening evidence. Edifier’s published specifications alone cannot settle subjective sound preferences.
