The Ecovacs Winbot W3 Omni’s main differentiator is a dock that washes its wiping pad; that does not make window cleaning hands-free. You still transfer the pad plate, supervise the robot and move it between panes. The station may be worthwhile if pad upkeep is your biggest chore, but its convenience needs to justify its footprint and the robot’s premium price. The “Rolls-Royce” label is a metaphor, not an established performance finding: the available evidence does not include independent cleaning tests or a controlled comparison with the W2.
What the W3 Omni’s wash station does
ECOVACS calls the system Vortex Wash. The company says a cycle takes about one minute and uses 16 spray nozzles rated at 20 kPa, four rotating scrub discs running at 200 rpm, and a scraper to remove dirty water while leaving moisture in the pad. The station routes wastewater to a tank and offers an optional self-cleaning cycle. These are manufacturer specifications and claims; they do not establish how clean the pad or window will be in comparative testing.
The station addresses one narrow part of the job: cleaning the wiping pad. It does not remove the need to handle the pad assembly or manage the robot across multiple windows. TechRadar’s January 9, 2026 CES preview by Ruth Hamilton notes that users still remove the pad plate and transfer it to the dock, supervise the cleaning, and reposition the robot from pane to pane. Hamilton also questions how much work the station saves when window-robot pads may collect less grime than floor-robot mop pads. This is preview coverage, not a full review or long-term use report.

That depends on what interrupts your cleaning routine. If repeatedly washing a pad by hand is the task you most want to avoid, the dock automates that step. But it adds a station to store and a plate-transfer step to the workflow. You also remain involved while the robot cleans and when it is time to move to another pane. For a few accessible windows, those remaining tasks may outweigh the time saved at the pad. For many panes, especially where repeated pad cleaning would otherwise be a nuisance, the station could be more useful—but the available evidence does not quantify the time saved.

ECOVACS stands firmly behind our product's safety. WINBOT W2 OMNI comes with insurance protection that offers financial security and worry
The W3 is therefore not a fully autonomous window-cleaning system. Consider the whole sequence, not just the one-minute wash claim: prepare and place the robot, monitor it, move it between panes, and transfer the pad plate to the station as needed.
What ECOVACS claims about the robot
ECOVACS lists WIN-SLAM 5.0 navigation, multi-sensor obstacle detection, TruEdge edge cleaning, a multi-nozzle spray system, app control and eight selectable modes. The named modes are Edge, Fast, Heavy-Duty, Spot, Deep, Thorough and Zone, plus remote control. The U.S. product page also claims obstacle avoidance with 1 mm precision and speeds up to 16 cm/s. Treat these as manufacturer claims, not independently measured results.

The company says the robot works plugged in or on battery, with up to 130 minutes of cleaning per charge. “Up to” is a claimed maximum, not a verified runtime. ECOVACS also promotes a combined power-and-safety cable and anti-drop protection. Follow the product manual for setup and safe use; the promotional claims alone do not establish suitability for every window or installation.

The clearest supported distinction is the W3 Omni’s integrated pad-washing station. The available evidence does not establish a controlled W3-versus-W2 comparison for window-cleaning quality, reliability or other outcomes, so it cannot show that the W3 cleans better. Compare the models on the workflow you want, not an assumed performance advantage.

Who should consider the W3 Omni?
- It may suit you if automating pad washing is important enough to warrant an extra dock, and you are comfortable supervising the robot and handling it between panes.
- Think carefully before paying extra if you expect the station to make the entire task autonomous, have limited space for the dock, or clean only a small number of windows.
- Do not assume a cleaning-quality advantage over the W2: no controlled comparison or independent W3 cleaning test is established by the cited coverage.
For a purchase decision, weigh the pad-washing step against the station’s space and handling demands, then check ECOVACS’s live listing and current manual. The evidence does not establish long-term reliability, failure rates, results across different glass types or current customer-review volume.
