EBANX and NetEase Games Club announced a payment partnership on September 28, 2026, bringing local payment options to the Club’s checkout for players in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Peru. Cards will remain available. The release specifically names Pix in Brazil, SPEI in Mexico, PagoEfectivo in Peru, and Mercado Pago wallets across the region; it does not identify a distinct local payment method for Argentina or Chile.
What the partnership changes
NetEase Games Club is described as the official top-up destination for NetEase titles. Its checkout will offer cards alongside local payment methods as EBANX processes payments for the initial five-market rollout. The announcement establishes the rollout countries, but does not say that every named method is available in every country.

Can players pay without a credit card?
The partnership is intended to add alternatives to cards, which may help players who do not have a credit card. The exact alternatives depend on the country and the options displayed at checkout.

In general terms, Pix and SPEI are bank-transfer payment rails, Mercado Pago is a wallet option, and PagoEfectivo is a voucher-based payment method. They are not interchangeable: each follows its own payment flow, and the announcement does not specify the detailed checkout steps, processing times, or whether a particular option requires a bank account.
EBANX’s September 2026 release attributes two regional access figures to World Bank data, without specifying the data year: one in four adults in Latin America has a credit card, while more than half of people aged 15 or older have made a digital payment. The release also says about 60 million Brazilians lack a credit card and cites Brazil’s Central Bank for an estimate of roughly 170 million Pix users, equivalent to 96% of Brazil’s adult population; the data year is not specified in the release. For Mexico, the company says 33% of people with access to a credit card and more than half of adults use SPEI. For Peru, it reports that 37% of adults have a credit card and PagoEfectivo reaches 64% of adults. Why the partnership is relevant to games businesses
Local payment options can make a digital top-up checkout usable for customers who prefer or need alternatives to an international card. That is the access case EBANX makes; it is not proof that this partnership has already increased purchases or NetEase revenue.
The company cites PCMI data analyzed by EBANX to project USD 8.4 billion in 2026 game revenue across the five markets, including USD 3.8 billion for Brazil. These are forecasts, not realized revenue. The same EBANX release attributes 2025 growth of 6.4% for Latin America’s gaming market, versus 4.2% in North America and 3.6% in Europe, to Newzoo. Newzoo’s Global Games Market Report page confirms the report series but does not itself show that regional comparison in its accessible page text, so the specific figures should be understood as reported by EBANX.

What EBANX’s merchant results do—and do not—show
EBANX reports that some of its merchants saw revenue uplift after integrating local payment methods: up to 37% after Pix integration within six months, up to 46% after SPEI integration within three months, and up to 19% after PagoEfectivo integration within one month. These are maximum results with different measurement windows, not typical outcomes or controlled causal estimates. They are not NetEase results and do not predict what the partnership will deliver.
EBANX also reported 48% growth in its total payment volume during 2025. That is a company-wide business metric, not a measure of the NetEase partnership.

What players should expect at checkout
NetEase Games Club is a digital top-up service: players select a supported game, enter player or account information, choose a recharge amount or currency package, pay, and receive the purchased items after processing.
