The EarFun Wave Pro X packs Bluetooth 6.0, adaptive hybrid noise cancellation, extensive EQ controls, wired playback and long claimed battery life into an over-ear headphone priced around $130 in September 2026. Its broad feature set is appealing, but reviews differ on its sound, and Notebookcheck describes the ANC as average. It looks like a strong value if you want customization and connectivity; it is less compelling if you expect class-leading noise cancellation or a perfect default tuning.
What the EarFun Wave Pro X offers
The Wave Pro X is an over-ear wireless headphone built around dual-coaxial 40 mm and 10 mm drivers. Its listed features include adaptive hybrid ANC, transparency mode, Bluetooth 6.0, a 3.5 mm wired connection, and support for LDAC, SBC, AAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless and LC3. The specification list comes from Notebookcheck; codec availability and experience can depend on the connected device and setup.
EarFun also advertises an eight-microphone call system, multipoint connectivity, Auracast, LE Audio and a low-latency game mode. These are manufacturer-described capabilities, not a guarantee that every feature will work with every phone or audio source. The company’s September 3, 2026 launch announcement lists a $129.99 launch price and identifies Amazon as a sales channel.
How good is the sound?
There is no single reviewer verdict on the Wave Pro X’s sound. Notebookcheck’s Vineet Washington found the default EQ less than ideal but praised the sound after tuning and the app’s customization options. Tom’s Guide, in its own listening review, reported muddy bass on a tested track. Those are listening impressions rather than shared, controlled measurements, and they point to a practical distinction: the headphones may reward EQ adjustment, but buyers who want a sound they immediately enjoy at default settings may be less satisfied.

Is the ANC effective enough for commuting?
Notebookcheck calls the ANC average. That is a qualified reviewer assessment, not a measured attenuation result, and the cited reviews do not establish how the Wave Pro X compares to rivals in a common controlled test. Adaptive hybrid ANC and transparency mode give you useful options for managing outside sound, but the evidence does not support buying this model on the expectation of top-tier isolation.

If noise cancellation is your deciding factor, compare recent listening tests and return terms before buying. Comfort, battery and included accessories
Notebookcheck’s reviewer describes the headphones as comfortable, including while wearing glasses. EarFun lists the weight at approximately 259 g. Comfort is personal, so fit and clamping pressure may still vary between listeners.

EarFun claims up to 90 hours of playback with ANC off and up to 50 hours with ANC on. The company also claims that 15 minutes of charging can provide up to 10 hours of playback. These are manufacturer figures, not independent runtime test results; EarFun notes that playback time varies with volume and audio content on its Japanese product page.
The reviewed package includes a hard-shell case, a USB-A-to-USB-C charging cable and a 3.5 mm audio cable. Wired playback gives you an alternative connection when you prefer not to use Bluetooth.

When comparing these options, consider the sound you prefer, whether you are willing to adjust EQ, the ANC performance reported in reviews, comfort, and the codecs and connections you actually use. The sources here do not establish a comparative durability advantage for the Wave Pro X.

Should you buy the EarFun Wave Pro X?
Consider it if you want a versatile over-ear headphone with substantial app-based tuning, multiple wireless codecs, wired playback, and a manufacturer-claimed long battery life. Its strongest case is flexibility at a mid-budget price, not a proven best-in-class result.
Look elsewhere if you need especially strong ANC, dislike adjusting sound settings, or want an official water-resistance rating. Tom’s Guide reports that EarFun does not claim waterproofing and that the Wave Pro X has no official IP rating; the available evidence therefore does not support recommending it for wet conditions or workouts.
