In EA SPORTS FC 27 Ultimate Team, check each Squad Building Challenge’s requirements, reward and expiry in game before submitting. Traditional SBCs ask you to solve squad-building requirements; Simplified SBCs ask you to submit eligible Player Items until you reach an Item Score. Submitted items are permanently removed from your Club. A Simplified SBC’s main reward requires full completion, though EA says an expired, unfinished challenge may grant a reduced untradeable reward based on the score submitted.
How do I complete an SBC in FC 27?
Start with the challenge’s own details: the requirements, reward and expiry can differ from one SBC to another. EA describes two formats in its Ultimate Team SBC guide.
Simplified SBCs: reach the required Item Score
Eligible Player Items add Item Score toward the challenge’s stated total. You can submit items across multiple sessions, and your progress is saved while the challenge is live. Duplicates are eligible too. The main reward is issued after you meet the full requirement.

These puzzle-style challenges require a squad satisfying the listed conditions. Depending on the challenge, those can include Squad Rating, Chemistry, Player Quality, League, Nation or Club requirements. FC 27 retains traditional SBCs alongside the newer score-based format; EA’s FC 27 Ultimate Team Deep Dive describes Streamlined SBCs as score-based, potentially with minimum item-rating rules, while traditional challenges remain for squad puzzles.

When does an SBC expire?
There is no single expiry date for all SBCs. Check the timer or expiry displayed on the specific challenge and make sure you have enough time to finish it before submitting. EA says that once an SBC expires, you can no longer submit a squad.
For a live Simplified SBC, submitted progress is saved, but the Player Items you submitted are removed immediately and permanently. If it expires before you reach the required Item Score, EA says you might receive a reduced untradeable reward based on the score submitted. That is not the main challenge reward, which requires full completion.

What should I check before submitting Player Items?
EA advises reviewing the reward, expiry, selected items and remaining Item Score first. SBC submissions are final: items are permanently removed from your Club, including items submitted toward an unfinished challenge. EA Advisors cannot restore them.
