The best cheap players in EA FC 27 Ultimate Team are the ones who fill a role your squad needs—not simply the lowest-priced cards with the highest overall rating. Build around your coin budget, position, relevant attributes, chemistry and the cost of a complete XI. Market prices move and differ between platforms, so treat the squads and figures below as dated starting points and check listings on your platform before buying.
Start with your budget and the job you need a player to do
Set a coin cap for the whole squad before choosing individual cards. A star attacker can be poor value if buying them leaves you with a weak defence or no suitable midfield cover. Decide which positions need improvement, then compare cards by the attributes and PlayStyles that matter in those roles.
- Forwards: prioritize pace and finishing.
- Wingers: look at acceleration and dribbling.
- Midfielders: compare passing and stamina, plus defensive attributes for a holding role.
- Defenders: check pace, awareness, strength and defensive PlayStyles.
A card’s overall rating alone does not tell you how well it will perform in your team. Chemistry and links to players you already own can make a slightly less impressive card the more useful purchase.

About 20,000 coins: a 4-4-1-1 (2)
AllThingsHow’s September 25, 2026 guide estimates this 4-4-1-1 (2) at about 21,350 coins: Falcone; Spence, Le Tissier, Rüdiger and Álvaro Carreras; Reuteler, Rabiot, Giugliano and Thompson; Dybala; and Anyomi. The guide describes Anyomi as a quick forward and emphasizes balance across the squad.
The same guide gives a cheaper 4-2-1-3 alternative at roughly 19,000 coins, naming David De Gea, Mario Gila, Oumar Solet, Antonee Robinson and Djed Spence in the defensive group. These are dated editorial estimates, not current price quotes.

About 50,000 coins: a balanced starter XI
Dot Esports’ September 23, 2026 recommendation uses a 4-2-1-3 and names Hannah Hampton, Ona Batlle, Dean Huijsen, Ezri Konsa, Marc Cucurella, Kim Little, Géraldine Reuteler, Jaedyn Shaw, Alyssa Thompson, Ademola Lookman and Omar Marmoush. The guide estimated the squad at 48,500 coins on consoles and 50,500 on PC, and named Nick Pope as a cheaper goalkeeper alternative.

When a cheap card is better for SBCs than matches
Low price and high rating do not automatically make a card a good competitive pick. PlayerAuctions’ September 28 guide lists Klara Bühl, Yui Hasegawa, Barbra Banda, Declan Rice and Mapi León as under-10K examples, while warning that some cheap high-rated players may be more useful as Squad Building Challenge (SBC) fodder than in competitive gameplay. Its prices are approximate and can shift with supply, demand, SBCs, Evolutions and promotional content.
FUT.GG’s cheapest-by-rating table is another SBC-price reference, not a ranking of the best players on the pitch. At access, it displayed examples of 81–83-rated cards at 650 coins, 84-rated cards at 700–800, 85-rated cards at 1,700–2,100 and 86-rated cards at 3,900–4,400. Those volatile displayed prices should not be treated as current purchase quotes or proof of gameplay quality.

How to check prices and compare candidates
- Set the budget and platform. Decide how many coins you can spend on the complete team, and whether your estimate is for PC or console. Prices can differ across platforms.
- Shortlist by role. Compare the attributes that serve the position you need rather than sorting only by overall rating.
- Check squad fit. Consider chemistry links, formation and whether an untradeable player already fills the role. Keep coins for the rest of the XI instead of spending nearly everything on one card.
- Separate match value from SBC value. A cheap card with a useful rating for an SBC may not have the attributes or PlayStyles you want in Rivals or Champions.
- Verify the current listing. Check the in-game market on your platform immediately before buying; note when you checked because prices and promotional supply change.
FUT.GG’s player database provides filters for position, league, club, nation, rarity and price, along with card ratings, prices, PlayStyles and roles. It can help narrow a shortlist, but its displayed prices are not a substitute for checking the in-game market.
What EA’s FC 27 ratings pages include
EA’s FC 27 Player Ratings page offers filters for Overall, Pace, Shooting, Passing, Dribbling, Defending and Physical, and says it covers more than 19,000 players. Its scope note matters: “The Player Ratings table reflects the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Player Items available in Ultimate Team ’27 at launch.” EA says the table excludes other item types such as Heroes, Icons and campaign items added after release, and does not reflect live-form updates in other modes. The page also says player details may change following the September 10 database update.

EA’s Game Info Hub announcement says the full FC 27 database went live with over 21,000 players. It also says selected Destined for Glory players receive live upgrades based on real-world performance, and gives the campaign dates as September 25 to October 9, 2026. The announcement describes base rarities as Bronze, Silver and Gold rather than Common or Rare.
The ratings page’s launch-item table and the announcement’s full-database count describe different coverage. Do not assume the launch table includes every special or live item.
