Dyson’s Total Restore offering, as Dyson Australia presents it, is a booked deep-clean. Dyson’s specialists take the cordless vacuum apart, clean and sterilise its parts, and send it back. It does not repair the machine or replace parts. If a fault turns up, Dyson contacts you about the repair and its charges. Eligibility is limited to a list of named models, and prices differ by country, so check your market before you book.
What Total Restore covers in Australia
Dyson Australia’s support navigation labels this offering “Dyson Total Restore” and links readers to its MyDyson Care page. The service targets dust that builds up inside a vacuum through everyday use. It is a cleaning service, and the page presents it that way, so it should not be read as a repair service.

What happens to your vacuum during the clean
Dyson describes the process in five stages. The steps below are Dyson’s own description of its process; the service page does not attach measured results to them.

- Filter. The filter is cleaned with compressed air and then sterilised.
- Engine body and cyclone. These are cleaned with compressed air.
- Bin. The bin is washed and sterilised.
- Motorised cleaner heads. Brushes are cleaned under high pressure, and the motorised heads are protected during that step.
How to book and get your vacuum back (Australia)
- Contact Dyson care to book the service.
- Send the vacuum using the free Australia Post label, or drop it off at a Dyson store or service centre.
- Receive it back once the cleaning is finished.
The page does not state a turnaround time for the Australian clean, so ask Dyson for the current estimate when you book.

What the service does not cover
Dyson draws a firm line between the clean and the product guarantee, and the difference matters if your vacuum has a fault rather than a layer of dust:
- The deep-clean addresses built-up dust from everyday use.
- The guarantee addresses defects caused by materials or workmanship within the guarantee period.
- The deep-clean does not include repairs or replacement parts.
- If Dyson finds that a repair or replacement is needed, it contacts the owner with the relevant charges before any further work.

Japanese prices are specific to Dyson Japan and can change, so verify them on Dyson’s own site before quoting them.
Repairs in the United States
In the US, Dyson’s ordinary repair route is separate from any deep-clean offering. The points below apply to that repair route only.

- Shipping. If you ship a machine, contact Dyson first to arrange the carrier label and to confirm proof of purchase.
- Turnaround. Shipped repairs are typically returned in 14 to 21 working days. On-site repairs may need an extra 5 to 10 business days when parts are unavailable or the service takes longer.
- Parts. Genuine repair parts or tools carry a one-year warranty under Dyson’s terms.
- Loan machines. Participating US locations may offer a loan machine if the repair takes longer, subject to availability and local terms.
- Independent repair centres. Some repairs are assigned to independent centres, which are responsible for their own estimates and repair arrangements.
Choosing between a deep clean and a repair
- Is the problem dust? If the vacuum works but has lost performance through a build-up of dirt, and your model is on the eligibility list for your market, the deep-clean is the relevant service.
- Is there a fault? If the machine will not run, has a broken part, or shows an electrical problem, the deep-clean will not fix it. Check whether the fault falls under the guarantee, and if not, expect a separate repair quote.
- Do you need a part? Replacement parts are model-specific. Match the part to your exact machine and check Dyson’s genuine parts listing before ordering.
- Which market are you in? Compare warranty status, quoted cost, turnaround, shipping responsibility, and loan availability using your own country’s Dyson pages.
What Dyson claims, and what is not independently shown
Dyson’s MyDyson Care page says: “Our team of dedicated experts will collect your vacuum, professionally clean it using the latest technologies, and return it to you as good as new.” This is Dyson’s description of its service. It is not independent proof that a cleaned vacuum returns to a particular condition or performance level.
