What the TP01 does—and what this review can establish
Dyson describes the TP01 as a purifier fan with a loop amplifier. It can be switched on or off using the machine’s button or remote, and airflow can be changed with the remote or by pressing and holding the machine’s standby button. The remote attaches magnetically to the top of the machine with its buttons facing down. Dyson’s TP01 support page documents these controls and care procedures.

If the remote is lost or fails, Dyson lists remote part 970192-01 on its support page. The page showed it out of stock in the cited listing, so check live availability rather than assuming it can be ordered. Dyson’s support material also includes troubleshooting for airflow changes, oscillation, clicking noises, power, and cleaning; those topics do not indicate how frequently owners encounter a problem.
Replacement filter: verify the exact part
Dyson identifies Genuine Filter part 972426-01 as compatible with TP01, TP02, and BP01. When shopping for a Dyson TP01 replacement filter 972426-01, match the model and part number on the listing to Dyson’s compatibility information. When to replace the filter
Dyson says the TP01 is programmed to remind owners to replace the filter unit after 12 months based on 12 hours of use per day. The company qualifies that interval: heavier use may trigger the indicator sooner, and the indicator is a guide rather than a guaranteed service-life measurement. Treat the reminder as a maintenance prompt, not a promise that every filter lasts exactly a year.

How to replace the filter and reset the reminder
- Unplug the machine. Do this before opening it.
- Remove the loop amplifier. Press both release buttons and lift the amplifier off.
- Replace the filter. Take out the old filter and fit the new one.
- Reassemble the machine. Refit the loop amplifier.
- Reset the indicator. On the remote, hold the standby on/off button for six seconds. Dyson says the display shows a clockwise pattern during the reset.
For routine cleaning, Dyson recommends a dry cloth or soft brush on the loop amplifier, main body, and inlet grille. Do not use polish or detergent. Follow the TP01 support instructions if you need the model-specific cleaning or troubleshooting steps.
