Ducatur was described in 2018 as a software framework for bringing off-chain business data into blockchain applications through oracle systems. Its proposed design used an offline node to connect external systems with smart contracts, alongside data sharing, verification and dispute-resolution mechanisms. The historical coverage does not establish that the framework is still maintained, available or supported.
What was the Ducatur MultiChain Oracles Framework?
Ducatur was presented as software infrastructure—not a physical device or consumer product—that would let business partners exchange external data for use by blockchain applications. TechBullion’s July 11, 2018 description characterized it as a decentralized platform for creating oracle systems and connecting business workflows to blockchain networks. Read TechBullion’s 2018 description of Ducatur.
Coinspeaker’s May 4, 2018 article also framed Ducatur as a multi-chain oracle framework, in this case for decentralized autonomous corporations. It described creating and registering oracles, supplying and verifying data, and using reputation mechanisms. These are accounts of the project’s intended model, not independent confirmation that those functions were deployed successfully. Read Coinspeaker’s project-era coverage.

Why would a business need an oracle?
A smart contract runs on a blockchain and can act on information recorded there, but it cannot independently retrieve arbitrary information from a company database, a logistics system or another outside source. An oracle is the bridge that supplies such off-chain information to a contract. For example, a contract might need an external delivery confirmation before triggering a payment; the confirmation must reach the blockchain through some data provider or oracle mechanism.

That bridge creates a trust question: the contract can execute its rules, but it still depends on the accuracy and availability of the information supplied from outside the chain. Ducatur’s historical descriptions made data exchange, verification and handling disagreements central parts of the proposed system.
How Ducatur was supposed to connect business systems to a blockchain
- Connect an off-chain source. A business database, workflow or data provider would supply information from outside the blockchain.
- Pass information through an offline node. TechBullion described an offline node as the interface between off-chain systems and blockchain-connected automated smart contracts.
- Make the data usable by a contract. The oracle mechanism would relay information so an on-chain contract could use it in its rules or transactions.
- Share and check data. The project-era accounts described participants sharing data and verifying its reliability. They also proposed reputation, expert involvement or arbitration as ways to address conflicting information.
These steps summarize the intended architecture described in the 2018 coverage; they should not be read as a verified implementation guide or an independently tested security design.

Which blockchains did the historical coverage name?
TechBullion named Ethereum, NEO and EOS as networks Ducatur could interface with. That is a report from 2018, not a current compatibility list or proof that working integrations were deployed. Current support for any network has not been verified.

The available project-era reporting and a German-language Blockchainwelt article updated May 28, 2024 do not establish that the original framework is currently maintained, supported, documented or available. Blockchainwelt discusses DUCAT in connection with data transactions and future interoperability, but that account does not verify present-day project activity or token availability. Read Blockchainwelt’s Ducatur overview.

Name similarity is not enough to identify a project as the same one. Search results include a DUCAT || UNIT organization and a Ducat Network organization, but the available material does not connect either to the original Ducatur oracle framework. DUCAT || UNIT on GitHub and Ducat Network on GitHub should not be treated as evidence of Ducatur’s status without authoritative confirmation linking them.
What should you verify before considering Ducatur today?
Because current operational information is not established, a business evaluating the concept—or any proposed Ducatur implementation—should first confirm that the material is tied to the original project. Then assess the practical and security details directly:
Rank #4
- Operational status: Is there authoritative, recent documentation or a project statement confirming the framework is active and supported?
- Data provenance and verification: Which sources provide data, how is it checked, and how are conflicting reports handled?
- Trust and security assumptions: What can an operator, data provider or other participant falsify, censor or interrupt? Is there an independent security review?
- Chain support: Which networks are supported now, rather than merely named in historical coverage?
- Failure handling: What happens when data is late, unavailable, disputed or wrong, and who can resolve a dispute?
- Maintenance and documentation: Are the code, integration instructions and support channels current enough for a production system?
The 2018 articles describe intended features but do not provide independent security reviews, performance measurements or deployment evidence sufficient to answer those questions or compare Ducatur reliably with current oracle options.

What did historical articles say about the DUCAT token?
TechBullion reported that DUCAT was intended to be ERC-20 compatible and used for data transactions and other ecosystem purposes. That is a historical project claim, not independent confirmation of token functionality, present availability or market status. The article’s token-sale and supply figures likewise should not be treated as verified current facts.
