The Drop Lord of the Rings Dwarvish ENTR is an 87-key wired tenkeyless keyboard built around its engraved-looking Middle-earth theme and tactile Holy Panda X switches. Its aluminum case and themed MT3 keycaps give it a distinctive, substantial feel, but it lacks hot-swap support, software, and RGB lighting. It makes the most sense for fans who value the design and want tactile switches out of the box—not buyers seeking extensive customization. Its 2022–23 prices are historical, and current stock of this exact model is not established.
What is the Drop LOTR Dwarvish keyboard?
This is the Dwarvish version of Drop’s ENTR tenkeyless (TKL) keyboard, a wired layout with 87 keys and no number pad. The design draws on the Doors of Durin, with Dwarvish-associated legends and small English training legends on the keycaps. Drop’s August 2022 launch announcement described the keyboard as an officially licensed collaboration with Middle-earth Enterprises; that is launch-era company language, not a performance endorsement. Drop’s launch announcement
The Dwarvish model is distinct from Drop’s later CSTM65 Elvish keyboard and from the separately sold MT3 Dwarvish keycap set. Don’t assume those products are the same keyboard or interchangeable without checking layout and profile compatibility.

#1 Best Overall
- Drop + The Lord of the Rings Dwarvish MT3 Keycaps: Capping off this Dwarvish stronghold is our MT3 Dwarvish Keycap Set—featuring Cirth legends with Khuzdul phrases, Latin alpha sublegends, and side-printed Latin modifier legends.
- MT3 Profile: Scooped, Sculpted, Ultra-Satisfying: Our Dwarvish Keycaps don’t just look good. They feel incredible—with build quality worthy of the Dwarves themselves. That’s thanks to our PBT construction and our scooped, sculpted MT3 profile.
- An Exclusive Drop ENTR Case, With Drop ENTR Electronics: Adding to the undeniably Dwarvish aesthetic, this master-crafted pre-built features a matching dark gray aluminum case with art by OSHETART depicting the Doors of Durin—plus white LED lighting.
- Drop Holy Panda X Mechanical Switches: These fully engineered, ultra-consistent tactile switches refine the feel, sound, and reliability of the original Holy Panda Switches for a satisfying tactile bump that feels the exact same, every time.
- Drop Phantom Stabilizers: Engineered for ultra-quiet keystrokes, these stabilizers feature abrasion-resistant, low-friction UHMWPE stems and exceptionally strong, non-resonant PA12 housings.
How does it feel to type on?
HotHardware’s reviewer described the aluminum case as weighty and premium-feeling, and the Holy Panda X switches as smooth and positively tactile. The same reviewer noted some switch-stem wobble, so the tactile feel is not the same as a claim of perfectly stable or uniform switches. These are that publication’s hands-on impressions, not a guarantee that every user will prefer the typing feel. HotHardware’s review
PC Gamer praised the artwork and the recessed feel of the keycaps. The Dwarvish legends make the board visually distinctive, while the small English legends provide a practical guide for readers who do not read the themed characters.

- Mechanical Keyboard: Tenkeyless (TKL) layout with 87 keys
- N-key rollover: Every single key you press is registered as a separate input
- Robust Aluminum Case: The durable anodized aluminum bottom case with sturdy plastic top cover offers stability and style
What are the trade-offs?
It is not hot-swappable
The switches are not hot-swappable, according to PC Gamer. If you want to try different switch types without soldering or prefer to customize a board over time, this design is restrictive. The keyboard also offers only its included Holy Panda X switch choice.

The board has white-only backlighting with four brightness levels, not RGB. HotHardware also criticized the absence of status lights, macros, knobs or dials, and software. It is a plug-and-type keyboard rather than a configurable control surface.

It is a TKL layout
With no numpad, it takes less desk width than a full-size layout, but it may be inconvenient if your work depends on frequent numeric entry. Decide whether the narrower footprint is useful before buying.
Is the Dwarvish ENTR worth its historical premium?
Drop announced a $169 preorder price in August 2022 and planned to raise the price to $199 after launch. PC Gamer listed it at $199 in its July 2023 review. Those are dated prices, not current offers. Launch announcement · PC Gamer review

The premium bought the licensed Dwarvish presentation, aluminum case, themed MT3 keycaps, and tactile switches—not an unusually broad feature set. PC Gamer considered the basic functionality and lack of hot-swap a weak value proposition at its listed $199. In practical terms, it is a stronger fit for a Lord of the Rings fan who specifically wants this look than for someone comparing TKL boards mainly on customization or features.
Availability and buying checks
A February 26, 2026 PC Gamer report said Drop.com would cease operating as a standalone ecommerce store on March 31, 2026, with Corsair taking over retail operations. It reported that existing preorders and warranties would be honored by Corsair, and that the LOTR collaboration likely would not return. The current Drop page presents itself as a hub for collaborations across the CORSAIR family, but the available information does not establish stock of this exact Dwarvish model or specific warranty-claim instructions. Check current CORSAIR or retailer listings before treating the keyboard as available, and verify the seller, condition, and warranty terms for any listing.
