The Dreamegg Sunrise 2 is a capable budget sunrise alarm clock if you want a broad, warm wake-up light and simple controls without an app. In Tom’s Guide’s one-week test, reviewer Nicola Appleton liked its sunrise effect and ease of use; she found its built-in sounds basic and the audio merely passable compared with pricier alternatives. Price and stock are less straightforward: the review and Dreamegg’s listing showed different prices, and the manufacturer page displayed the clock as sold out when checked on October 7, 2026.
What the Dreamegg Sunrise 2 does
The Sunrise 2 combines an alarm clock, sunrise and sunset light routines, an ambient light and built-in sounds. Its controls are on the device, and the features covered in Tom’s Guide’s review do not require an app or Wi-Fi. That makes it a straightforward option for someone who wants a bedside wake-up light without configuring a phone-connected system.
Dreamegg lists 29 soundscapes and describes the clock as having a convex, fabric-covered face, a control knob and multiple ambient colors. Tom’s Guide reports 10 ambient colors and a large top snooze/control knob. Dreamegg’s description of the sound as “room-filling” is manufacturer language, not an independently measured audio result.
How it performed in the one-week review
A broad, warm sunrise
Nicola Appleton says the Sunrise 2’s convex face spread warm light more broadly around her bedroom than the Sunrise 1, and she found the sunrise effective during her test week. She also reported waking with more energy, but that is her personal experience—not evidence that the clock produces a health benefit for other users.

Easy controls, no app required
Appleton found the physical controls intuitive and appreciated being able to use the clock without a phone or app. She reports that setup took about 10 minutes. Her review says the box included a USB-to-USB-C cable but no power plug; check the current listing for package contents in your region before buying.
Sound is the main compromise
Appleton describes the sound quality as passable and the sound library as basic compared with premium alternatives. If you plan to use the clock primarily as a sound machine, the built-in selection and speaker experience are the main reasons to compare it with more feature-rich models.

Is the Dreamegg Sunrise 2 worth it?
It is most compelling for budget-conscious buyers who prioritize a warm sunrise routine, local controls and uncomplicated setup over polished audio or connected features. Appleton’s verdict identifies budget shoppers and sunrise-clock beginners as good fits, with a children’s bedroom as another possible use. Treat that as a reviewer’s recommendation, not a safety certification or medical endorsement.
Tom’s Guide’s October 6, 2026 review calls it “an excellent body clock at a budget price.” That judgment needs a price caveat: the article names a US price of $49.99, refers to an October Prime Day price around $37.99–$39.99, and also displays an Amazon callout of $89.99. Dreamegg’s official page showed $89.99 and “Sold Out – Notify me when it’s available” when accessed October 7, 2026. Check the live retailer listing before deciding whether the value works for you; these figures are time- and retailer-specific, not a settled current price.

What to compare before choosing a sunrise clock
The right alternative depends on which trade-offs matter most. Tom’s Guide’s 2026 sunrise-clock roundup discusses the earlier Dreamegg sunrise clock, Hatch Restore and Philips SmartSleep as category context; those comparisons should not be read as Sunrise 2-specific tests. Compare current models on:
- Light: how bright and broadly spread the sunrise appears, and whether sunrise and sunset durations are adjustable.
- Sound: the size of the sound library and whether the speaker is good enough for your intended use.
- Connectivity and content: whether the clock needs an app, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, and whether useful content requires a subscription.
- Practical details: current price and availability, warranty, dimensions and what is included in the box.
The reviewed Sunrise 2 is strongest on straightforward physical operation and the reviewer’s favorable impression of its warm, broad light. Its weaker point, based on that same review, is sound quality and variety. The category roundup’s pricing is not a stable quote, so verify current listings rather than relying on older comparison prices.

Tom’s Guide reports a 12-month warranty and dimensions of 6.51 × 4.03 × 6.3 inches. Dreamegg’s product page states a one-year warranty. The warranty duration is therefore consistent across those sources, while the exact terms should be checked with the seller or manufacturer for your region.

What the evidence does—and does not—say about sleep
The reviewed sources do not provide a clinical study or named statistic showing that the Sunrise 2 improves sleep, treats a sleep condition or changes health outcomes. The review supports a narrower conclusion: one reviewer found the light effective for waking during a one-week test. Consider it a wake-up and bedside-light device, not a treatment.
