The clearest confirmed sign of a new Dragon Ball era is DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3, an officially announced game project set in AGE 1000, far beyond the time of Goku and his allies’ heyday. The phrase “new era” is broader editorial framing, not an official declaration that the entire franchise is entering a new phase.
What does “a new era” mean for Dragon Ball?
It refers most concretely to a new direction for the Xenoverse game series. The DRAGON BALL OFFICIAL SITE announced that DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3 has officially begun as a game project and describes its AGE 1000 setting as far in the future from Goku and his allies’ heyday. The site calls the feature a “dawn of a new era” for Xenoverse; that wording should not be read as an official franchise-wide announcement.

The official page’s English text is machine-translated, so its underlying details are more reliable than any awkward phrasing. It confirms the project and broad setting, but does not give a release date, platforms, detailed plot, or full cast. Read the DRAGON BALL OFFICIAL SITE announcement.

- It is an announced game project: the official site identifies it as the newest Dragon Ball game project and the latest entry in the Xenoverse series.
- It is set in AGE 1000: the official description places the story far in the future relative to Goku and his allies’ heyday.
- Key launch and story details remain undisclosed on the announcement page: it does not state a release date, platforms, detailed story, or full cast. No launch timing can be established from that source.
Are new anime and manga projects confirmed?
A Game Rant article syndicated by Tournify frames the coming period around two anime projects, Xenoverse 3, and an expected manga return. That is the article’s broader outlook, not confirmation from the cited official announcement. Treat the anime and manga points as forecasts unless and until official Dragon Ball sources announce them. See the syndicated article credited to Game Rant.

What else does the announcement page cover?
The DRAGON BALL OFFICIAL SITE page also notes that Saikyo Jump’s July 2026 edition went on sale in Japanese stores on June 4, 2026, and says it includes a Xenoverse 3 feature. It is a Japanese physical magazine; the announcement does not establish current retailer stock outside that description. The page also references DLC for Dragon Ball FighterZ and Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, as well as card-game products and merchandise—evidence of activity across the franchise, not additional details about the new game.
