Raditz is a major threat to the heroes of the early Dragon Ball Z Saiyan arc: he shrugs off Piccolo’s Explosive Wave and overwhelms Goku and Piccolo when they attack together. But there is no official cross-anime ranking that proves which unrelated heroes would lose to him. The eight picks below are editorial matchups, not canon results, and each assumes the character’s standard, non-powered-up anime version with no preparation.
For a fair comparison, victory means defeating or incapacitating the opponent in a direct fight. Raditz is the Saiyan-arc version who first arrives on Earth; transformations, special crossover rules, and later versions of characters are excluded. The Dragon Ball sources establish Raditz’s story feats, but they do not provide a shared scale for measuring fighters from other series.
What Raditz has actually shown
In the official Dragon Ball account, Raditz comes to Earth looking for his younger brother Goku. He catches and returns a bullet, takes Gohan hostage, and survives Piccolo’s Explosive Wave without injury. Goku and Piccolo together initially fail to match him, and Raditz dodges Piccolo’s first Special Beam Cannon attempt. Those events make a strong case that he is dangerous to the early Saiyan-arc fighters, not that he automatically beats characters from every other anime. Raditz is eventually defeated through a specific combination: Gohan’s anger-fueled charge injures him, Goku restrains him, and Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon kills both brothers. This is not evidence that Gohan could reliably beat Raditz alone; the opening and the finishing attack both matter.

There is also a useful distinction in the official feature: Nappa calls Raditz a “weakling,” and the site describes him as appearing to be among the weaker Saiyan fighters. Relative weakness within the Saiyan race does not erase how formidable he is against the heroes he faces on Earth.
Eight anime heroes who would be in trouble
These picks are deliberately framed as plausible disadvantages, not proven outcomes. The series have incompatible storytelling rules and no shared measurement system, so the reasoning focuses on what each character’s standard portrayal suggests in a direct fight.

1. Usopp (One Piece)
Usopp’s usual strengths are ingenuity, ranged weapons, and improvisation rather than trading blows with a physically overwhelming opponent. Against a Raditz who can withstand Piccolo’s attack and dominate two experienced fighters at once, ordinary projectiles and tricks are unlikely to provide a dependable finish. Usopp’s best chance would be to exploit the surroundings or escape, not win a straightforward duel.

2. Sakura Kinomoto (Cardcaptor Sakura)
Sakura’s magic gives her unusual options, but a direct contest depends on which cards she has available and whether she can activate them before Raditz closes distance. Under the no-preparation assumption, she lacks a clearly established immediate answer to a fast, aggressive opponent. That makes her vulnerable in this scenario, though a card-specific or prepared matchup could change the analysis.

3. Tanjiro Kamado (Demon Slayer)
Tanjiro is a highly capable swordsman against demons, but his standard combat style still relies on closing in and landing a physical strike. A blade-based approach is a poor fit against an opponent whose demonstrated durability lets him emerge unharmed from Piccolo’s Explosive Wave. Without importing assumptions about how Demon Slayer weapons interact with Saiyans, Tanjiro has no reliable route to victory.
4. Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
Edward’s alchemy is flexible and can reshape terrain or create barriers, which gives him more tactical options than a conventional hand-to-hand fighter. Yet the premise allows no preparation, and Raditz’s ability to overpower Goku and Piccolo makes it difficult to assume Edward can keep him contained long enough to turn the environment into a winning advantage. Edward could complicate the fight; the evidence does not support calling that a likely win.

5. Natsu Dragneel (Fairy Tail)
Natsu’s fire-based offense and close-combat style could make this a more competitive fictional matchup than the others on this list. Still, an elemental attack is not automatically equivalent to Piccolo’s techniques, and Raditz’s story feats set a high bar for a direct physical exchange. Without a precise version and comparable feats for both, the safest conclusion is that Natsu would face a severe challenge, not that canon proves an inevitable loss.

Asta’s anti-magic is powerful within the rules of Black Clover, but Raditz is not a magic user in that setting. The central advantage therefore may not apply, leaving Asta to rely on swordsmanship, physical ability, and whatever form is permitted. Because the matchup depends heavily on whether cross-universe anti-magic affects ki or Saiyan abilities—and no official rule establishes that—it is better described as unfavorable under standard assumptions than settled.

7. Usagi Tsukino / Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon)
Usagi’s capabilities vary considerably by transformation and story point. A standard early-series Usagi without access to later, stronger forms is much less equipped for an immediate physical confrontation than Raditz, who can take on two early-series Dragon Ball fighters together. This verdict is especially version-sensitive: allowing more powerful transformations changes the question and cannot be folded into a single blanket claim.
8. Izuku Midoriya (My Hero Academia)
Midoriya’s physical power and tactical thinking make him formidable within his own series, but a standard version still has to land an attack and withstand a counter. Raditz’s demonstrated ability to shrug off Piccolo’s Explosive Wave and overwhelm Goku and Piccolo makes that exchange look badly unfavorable. Which Midoriya is being used matters; this pick does not claim that every point in his story produces the same result.

The official Dragon Ball site reports Gohan’s power level as 1,307 during his latent-potential headbutt against Raditz, then 2,800 when his anger rises later against Nappa. These are fictional figures from two distinct moments, not measurements of Gohan’s stable controlled ability. They also do not create a conversion scale for ranking characters from other franchises. For any cross-series matchup, the result can shift with the character version, available transformations, preparation, environment, and rules for abilities that do not exist in the other universe. A useful comparison states those assumptions instead of presenting a fan interpretation as an official fact.
