Dr. Pepper’s Fansville is an ongoing college-football advertising series, not a single commercial with one fixed cast. It debuted on August 27, 2018, according to the Fansville overview, and has featured athletes, former coaches, broadcasters, professional actors, and recurring fictional residents over several seasons.
The most recognizable face is Brian Bosworth, who plays the Sheriff. Later campaigns brought in college quarterbacks including DJ Uiagalelei, Bryce Young, and Caleb Williams, while Quinn Ewers joined the Season 7 lineup as the Sheriff’s Deputy. Dr. Pepper has not published a complete cast roster, so this guide covers publicly identifiable performers and their known roles rather than claiming to list every background performer.
The main Fansville cast
| Performer | Fansville role | Where they appear |
|---|---|---|
| Brian Bosworth | The Sheriff | Recurring character from the first season through at least Season 7 |
| Eddie George | The Doctor | Recurring cast member in the first two seasons |
| Les Miles | Convenience-store clerk | Fansville store scenes |
| DJ Uiagalelei | Himself | 2021 campaign |
| Bryce Young | Himself | 2022 campaign |
| Caleb Williams | Himself | 2023 “Superstitious” commercial |
| Quinn Ewers | The Sheriff’s Deputy | Season 7, including “Into the Great Unknown” and “Call for Backup” |
| Natasha Marc | A recurring Fansville resident and prominent female fan character | Multiple commercials |
| Jay Reeves | A football player named Jay | 2022 “Fan to Fan Chat” commercial |
| Sean Phillips | Narrator and official Fansville voice | Campaign narration and branded video credits |
Brian Bosworth as the Sheriff
Brian “The Boz” Bosworth is the campaign’s central recurring performer. He plays the Sheriff of Fansville, the football-obsessed town where ordinary civic problems are treated with the intensity of a rivalry game.
Bosworth has been associated with the campaign from its early seasons and remains the Sheriff in later material. Unlike college players who appear for individual campaigns, he is a continuing fictional character. Forbes covered the campaign’s early cast.

Eddie George as the Doctor
Former Ohio State star and NFL running back Eddie George plays the Doctor. He was a recurring cast member in the first two seasons and reprised the role in Season 2.
George’s appearance fits the campaign’s casting formula: recognizable football figures are placed inside a deliberately exaggerated small-town comedy rather than presented in a conventional product endorsement. Marketing Dive reported on the campaign’s renewal and cast.
Les Miles as the convenience-store clerk
Former college-football coach Les Miles appears as a Fansville convenience-store clerk. Miles is primarily known as a coach, not as a professional actor, so his inclusion is best understood as a football personality cameo.
He should not be confused with Larry Culpepper, another Dr. Pepper football advertising character. Larry Culpepper, played by James M. Connor, belonged to the earlier Dr. Pepper campaign and was retired when Fansville launched in 2018.
College quarterbacks who played themselves
Dr. Pepper’s later Fansville campaigns incorporated active college quarterbacks through NIL-era partnerships. These players were not professional actors playing fictional Fansville residents; they appeared as themselves.
DJ Uiagalelei
DJ Uiagalelei became the first active college player publicly identified as part of Dr. Pepper’s NIL-era Fansville casting. The Clemson quarterback appeared in the 2021 campaign, as reported by ESPN.

His role was essentially an on-screen version of his public identity as a college quarterback. Calling him a Fansville “actor” without that context is misleading: he was a participating athlete playing himself.

Bryce Young replaced Uiagalelei in the 2022 Fansville campaign. The Alabama quarterback made his commercial acting debut in the campaign’s 2022 material while appearing as himself, according to Sports Illustrated.
Caleb Williams
Caleb Williams appeared in Dr. Pepper’s 2023 Fansville commercial, “Superstitious.” As with Uiagalelei and Young, Williams was featured as himself rather than as a recurring fictional character.
Quinn Ewers as the Sheriff’s Deputy
Quinn Ewers joined the cast in Season 7, which premiered in August 2024. The Texas quarterback plays a new Sheriff’s Deputy alongside Bosworth’s Sheriff.
Season 7 included the spots “Into the Great Unknown” and “Call for Backup.” Ewers is a later addition to the campaign—not the original football player in Fansville, and not a replacement for Bosworth as the principal recurring star. Sports Illustrated covered the later campaign.

Sean Phillips
Sean Phillips provides the campaign’s narration and identifies himself as the official voice of Fansville. He is also credited as narrator in the IMDb listing for Fansville Presented by Dr Pepper — Return to Glory.
Phillips is important to the campaign’s recognizable sound. Even when a commercial’s visual cast changes, the narrator helps preserve the mock-documentary or television-drama framing that defines many Fansville spots. See Phillips’s Fansville page.

It should not, however, be treated as the complete cast of the entire advertising campaign. The IMDb credits list performers for this production.
Who is not part of the Fansville cast?
Larry Culpepper
Larry Culpepper is not a Fansville character. James M. Connor played him in Dr. Pepper’s earlier college-football advertising, but that character was retired before Fansville began.

Doug Flutie
Doug Flutie should not be listed as a Fansville cast member without naming a specific commercial and providing a matching credit. Flutie has appeared in other Dr. Pepper advertising, and viewers sometimes mistake older football-related ads or other performers for Fansville appearances.
The safest way to identify a performer is to match the person to a named Fansville spot, season, or production credit rather than relying on a visual resemblance.
How complete is this cast list?
There is no publicly verified campaign-wide database covering every Fansville commercial, background performer, voice performer, and one-off cameo. IMDb provides credits for individual branded videos, including “Return to Glory,” but not a guaranteed master roster for every season.
That limitation matters because Fansville is an advertising campaign rather than a conventional scripted television series. Commercial edits may run under different titles, promotional clips may receive separate listings, and some extras or brief appearances may never receive public credits.
Accordingly, the names above represent publicly identifiable credited performers—not every person visible or audible in every Fansville advertisement.
