DNS Jumper is a free, portable Windows utility from Sordum for changing the DNS servers your computer uses. Download it from Sordum’s DNS Jumper product page or follow the download link on Sordum’s official downloads page. The publisher’s product page, labeled updated November 9, 2023, lists DNS Jumper v2.3 for Windows 11 through XP, in x86 and x64 versions.
How to download DNS Jumper for Windows

Open the DNS Jumper v2.3 page on Sordum, the publisher’s product listing. Alternatively, start at Sordum’s downloads page and open the DNS Jumper listing.

Use the download link provided on the product page and save the file. Sordum identifies the executable as DnsJumper.exe.

Run the portable executable; Sordum describes DNS Jumper as freeware that needs no installation. The publisher does not establish here that a particular download is malware-free or that the file has been independently verified.

Sordum publishes SHA-256 6fe6bac71a82a58abcb06b0df4a836116543302efe6e076402fa518dfa455baa for the file listed on its product page. This is the publisher’s posted checksum, not confirmation that a newly downloaded copy matches it.
Windows compatibility
On the product page labeled updated November 9, 2023, Sordum lists Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, and XP, for x86 and x64. That is the publisher’s stated support range, not a guarantee that the utility will work on every Windows configuration. The available information does not independently verify behavior on current Windows 11 systems.
What DNS Jumper changes—and what it does not
DNS (Domain Name System) resolves a domain name such as a website address to the network address needed to connect. DNS Jumper lets you select a DNS resolver and apply it to Windows network settings. It is not a general internet-speed booster: faster DNS lookup, where it occurs, is not the same as faster downloads, higher bandwidth, or better performance throughout a connection.

Sordum says a DNS change can sometimes improve browsing speed or security, but those are publisher claims, not independent evidence that a particular server will be faster, more private, or more secure for you. A resolver also receives the DNS queries sent to it; the product listing does not evaluate providers’ data-handling policies, privacy, security, or reliability. Choose a resolver based on evidence relevant to your needs, such as performance on your own network and the provider’s published privacy and security practices.
Apply a DNS server and restore the defaults
Apply a selected server

Open DNS Jumper and, in Choose a DNS Server, select a listed server.

Click Apply DNS to apply the selection.

If you intend to change IPv6 DNS as well, tick the IPv6 checkbox before applying. The publisher’s instructions treat IPv6 separately; selecting a server alone does not document an IPv6 change.

Restore default DNS

Use Quick Configuration, or select Default (or Restore) DNS in the server list.

Click Apply DNS. If restoring IPv6 DNS too, tick the IPv6 checkbox as directed in Sordum’s instructions.
Choose a resolver carefully
Sordum says the DNS servers included in the program are only a sample and warns users not to use insecure DNS servers. Do not treat the presence of a server in the list as an endorsement or security assessment. Check the resolver provider’s own documentation and select a service appropriate to your privacy, reliability, and filtering requirements.
Sordum says DNS Jumper does not continue running in the background after DNS settings have been changed. The resolver selection remains a network setting, however; closing the utility is not the same as restoring the previous DNS configuration. Use the restore steps above if you want to return to default DNS.
