Shark says its PowerDetect UV Reveal robot vacuum and mop is designed to find hidden messes with UV light and an RGB camera, then target them with a more intensive mopping pattern. That makes tough-stain cleaning a central feature, but the cited performance figures are Shark’s comparisons—not independent test results for this model—so they do not prove it will remove every stain.
How UV Stain Detect and targeted mopping are supposed to work
Shark describes UV Stain Detect as using UV light alongside an RGB camera to seek messes that may be hard to see in ordinary light. Its examples include dried spills, juice, sweat, dried food splatter and pet accidents. When it identifies a stain, the robot is intended to apply a targeted HyperSonic mopping pattern and, according to Shark, check that the mess has been removed before moving on. These are manufacturer-described functions, not evidence that the robot will detect or clear every type of stain. What Shark’s stain-cleaning numbers mean
Shark’s launch announcement claims seven times the scrubbing power of traditional mopping and up to twice better stain removal than the Dreame X40. Its US product page gives a different baseline for the seven-times claim: Shark’s RV2820ZE. These are manufacturer comparisons with different reference points; neither is an independently verified result for the PowerDetect UV Reveal. Shark’s launch announcement and its US product page provide the respective claims.

What the base automates—and what the sanitization claim covers
Shark says the ThermaCharged NeverTouch Pro Base automatically empties and refills the robot and cleans it. The base also uses thermal heat to sanitize the mop pad. Shark’s product page reports a 99.99% reduction in Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, based on controlled third-party laboratory conditions and use in accordance with the owner instructions. That figure applies to the named bacteria and stated conditions; it is not a claim about all microbes or every household use. See Shark’s US product details.
US models, runtime and price
In the US, Shark identifies the black model as RV3020XE and the white model as RV3030XE. Model codes and product names can differ by market, so check the code on the local listing rather than assuming a US variant is sold everywhere. The black-model page and the white-model page identify the US versions.

Shark’s own materials conflict on runtime: the black-model details list 180 minutes of battery life and four hours to charge; the launch release says up to three hours of runtime; and a comparison panel on the white-model page says up to two hours for the UV Reveal. Because these statements do not agree, a single runtime figure is not established. Check the current owner guide or ask Shark before relying on a number for your home.
Shark announced a US starting price of $1,299.99 at launch in March 2026. When accessed October 4, 2026, its white-model page displayed $749.99, reduced from $1,299.99; that dated page display is not a guaranteed current offer. In the UK, T3 reported £999 pricing and availability on April 10, 2026, and also reported an Amazon price of £1,099.99 in the article. Should you consider it for stain-prone floors?
The PowerDetect UV Reveal is worth considering if you want a robot mop whose maker specifically describes a system for locating hidden messes and targeting them, alongside a base that automates several maintenance tasks. The evidence cited here supports those as advertised features; it does not establish how well they perform against other robot mops in independent testing. Before buying, compare the model and bundle available in your market, check local replacement-part and cleaner compatibility, and decide whether the price makes sense without treating the stain claims as a guarantee.
