Yes. The Arista 7050T-64 has four 40GbE QSFP+ ports, and each port can also be configured as four separate 10GbE links. The title’s “QSPF+” is a typo; the interface name is QSFP+.
What ports does the 7050T-64 have?
Arista’s 7050T datasheet lists the 7050T-64 configuration as 48 × 1/10GbE ports plus four 40GbE QSFP+ ports. The exact ordering code in the question is DCS-7050T-64-R; the datasheet describes the port configuration as 7050T-64. Arista 7050T datasheet
Can a QSFP+ port provide four 10GbE connections?
Yes. Each of the four QSFP+ interfaces can operate as one 40GbE connection or break out into four independent 10GbE connections. With all four interfaces in breakout mode, the 7050T-64 can provide 64 10GbE ports in total.

Arista EOS documentation describes QSFP+ as four data lanes that may be combined for a higher-speed interface or used separately. The precise configuration procedure depends on the platform and EOS release, so check the guidance for the switch’s software version before applying a command. Arista EOS interface documentation

Which cable or optic should you use?
Choose based on whether you need one 40GbE link or four 10GbE links, what the far-end device accepts, the required distance, and whether the link uses copper or fiber. Arista’s datasheet lists these examples:
| Connection type | Listed reach | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 40GBASE-CR4 QSFP+ to QSFP+ copper cable | 0.5 m to 7 m | One 40GbE link over a short copper run |
| 10GBASE-CR QSFP+ to four SFP+ ends | 0.5 m to 5 m | Break out one QSFP+ port into four 10GbE connections |
| 40GBASE-SR4 optical | 100 m over OM3 or 150 m over OM4 | 40GbE over multimode fiber |
| 40GBASE-LR4 optical | 10 km | 40GbE over a longer fiber link |
| 40GBASE-ER4 optical | 40 km | 40GbE over a longer-distance fiber link |
The datasheet also lists other options, including 40GBASE-XSR4, AOC, PLRL4, UNIV, SRBD, LRL4, and PLR4, with their own media and reach specifications. Consult the Arista 7050T datasheet for those details.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to confirm before connecting it
- Whether you want one 40GbE connection or four 10GbE breakout links.
- The far-end port type and supported link mode.
- The cable length and, for fiber, the optical medium.
- Compatibility of the particular cable or transceiver with both devices and the switch’s EOS release.
The datasheet’s cable categories and reach figures describe supported specifications; they do not certify every third-party cable, transceiver, or peer device. The 7050T datasheet is an older product document, so check current software lifecycle and product availability separately if those matter to your deployment.
