No. The redesigned 2024 Mac mini has no USB-A ports. It has two front USB-C ports and three rear Thunderbolt USB-C ports, so you can keep using a USB-A keyboard, mouse, drive, or other peripheral with a suitable USB-C-to-USB-A adapter. If you need to connect several USB-A devices, consider a hub or dock.

Does the 2024 Mac mini have USB-A ports?

No. Apple’s specifications for the Mac mini (2024) list USB-C and Thunderbolt USB-C connections, but no USB-A ports. The redesign was announced on October 29, 2024; launch-day coverage also noted the removal of USB-A.

What ports does the 2024 Mac mini have?

The connections are split between the front and rear. Apple lists two front USB-C ports that support USB 3 at up to 10 Gb/s. The specifications do not identify those front ports as Thunderbolt.

How do you connect a USB-A device?

Use a USB-C-to-USB-A adapter: connect its USB-C end to an available Mac mini USB-C port, then plug in the USB-A peripheral. Choose an adapter appropriate to the device’s data-rate and power requirements. This is a practical way to accommodate legacy gear; Apple’s port list does not establish the performance or compatibility of any particular third-party adapter.

An adapter occupies a USB-C port. If you regularly connect multiple USB-A devices, a USB-C hub or dock with enough USB-A ports may suit your setup better. Compare the number of connections you need, required data rates and power, any other ports you want, and whether the accessory will obstruct neighboring ports or fit your desk arrangement.
