Yes—according to a report on an internal X meeting in November 2023, Elon Musk said a feature called “X Dating” was close to arriving. But that report described a plan, not a verified public launch. It did not establish when the feature would launch, how it would work, or whether users can access it.
What did Musk reportedly say about X Dating?
Europa Press reported on 3 November 2023 that Musk told an internal X meeting that “X Dating” was “around the corner” and “already happening.” X chief executive Linda Yaccarino attended the meeting, according to the report.
The reported idea was to help users discover “interesting people” and assess whether someone might be “a good match” based on what they write on X. That describes a proposed matching concept, not a documented feature with known controls or a confirmed release.
Is X Dating available, and when will it launch?
The cited reporting does not confirm that X Dating launched publicly. It gives no launch date, geographic availability, product access details, or user numbers. “Around the corner” was Musk’s reported description in 2023; it is not evidence of a current or scheduled release.

How would dating fit into Musk’s plan for X?
Musk has described X as an “everything app”—a single service combining multiple kinds of online activity. In October 2022, Reuters reported that he called acquiring Twitter “an accelerant to creating X, the everything app,” and quoted his estimate that “Twitter probably accelerates X by 3 to 5 years, but I could be wrong.” That was Musk’s estimate, not a measured timeline.

In November 2022, Reuters reported that a proposed “Twitter 2.0 The Everything App” would include encrypted direct messages, long-form posts, and payments. In an April 2023 BBC interview transcript, Musk reiterated: “Like I said, my goal is to create X the everything app. That’s the goal. It’s what we’re working towards.”

Why distinguish an announced feature from a launched one?
Public announcements can describe intentions without confirming availability. In August 2023, the Associated Press reported Musk’s announcement that X would add voice and video calls, including the claim “No phone numbers needed.” AP said he gave no availability date and noted that some announced features and policies had not come to fruition.
That history makes the distinction important: Musk’s reported remarks establish that he discussed X Dating as a planned feature, not that users could sign up for it. A confirmed release would require evidence such as an X product announcement, public access, or reliable reporting that verifies the feature is operating.
