Does deleting the app revoke access to my Google Account? No: uninstalling removes the app from your device, but it is not the documented way to remove the app’s connection to your Google Account. Review and remove that connection in your Google Account settings. Revocation stops the app from accessing Google Account data through that authorization, but it does not necessarily delete information the developer already received.
What uninstalling does—and does not—change
Uninstalling removes the installed copy of an app from your phone or other device. Google’s guidance treats managing a linked app as a separate action in your Google Account, so do not assume that deleting the app from your device also revoked its account connection. Check the connection directly in Google’s linked-app settings.
| Action | What it changes | What it does not guarantee |
|---|---|---|
| Uninstall the app | Removes the app from the device. | Does not establish that the Google Account connection was revoked. |
| Remove the Google connection | Stops the app from accessing Google Account data through that authorization. | Does not necessarily delete data the developer already received. |
| Delete the app account or request data deletion | Addresses the account or information held by the service under the developer’s process. | Does not delete your Google Account. |
How to remove an app’s Google connection
- Sign in to the Google Account you used with the app.
- Open Manage your linked apps in your Google Account settings.
- Find and select the app. Review whether the connection is Sign in with Google, access to Google Account data, or Google Account Linking; these are different connection types.
- Choose the option to remove access or remove the connection, then confirm.
Google says that after access is revoked, the app can no longer access the Google Account data covered by that authorization. The help page does not give a universal time for every third-party session or token to end, so removing the connection should not be treated as a promise of immediate logout from the app itself. See Google’s guidance on sharing account data with third-party apps.

Sign in with Google can provide basic profile information for signing in. An app may separately ask for access to data from Google services such as Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Photos, or Contacts. Google’s Sign in with Google help explains that users can review permissions; check the selected app’s details to see what it was granted rather than assuming that sign-in means access to every Google service.

Google Account Linking is another distinct feature: it lets Google access some app features on your behalf. Removing that link can affect features that depend on it. Review the connection type before removing it, and consult Google’s explanation of Account Linking.

Removing access changes what the app can access from your Google Account through that authorization. It does not necessarily erase information the developer previously received or copied. Google advises that you may need to contact the developer to ask for deletion. Use the app’s own privacy or data-deletion process for that request; the developer controls its service-side account and data handling. Google’s overview of how third-party apps handle shared account data also notes that developers have their own data practices.
