Is online multiplayer confirmed?

What the 1–4-player label tells you
The stated range covers one player through a four-person group. One person can therefore play alone, while a full squad can contain up to four players. The wording does not establish whether a four-player session includes the host, whether additional players can join after a mission starts, or whether the game uses automatic matchmaking. Those are separate implementation details that have not been published.
What “squad up online” does and does not promise
“Online Co-op” indicates that cooperative play over a network is planned. It does not, by itself, document the joining process. The current listing does not specify Steam invitations, room codes, public matchmaking, dedicated servers, regional restrictions, voice chat, drop-in play, or reconnection behavior. Why the missing label matters

How to read future announcements
Look for an explicit statement such as “cross-play,” “cross-platform multiplayer,” or a list of compatible platforms. A platform launch announcement alone does not establish cross-play. Until the developer or storefront says otherwise, assume that a mixed-platform group may not be able to play together.

Two people sharing one screen
