Often, no adapter is needed: some Mellif tools are advertised as taking Makita 18V batteries directly. Check the exact tool’s compatibility statement before buying; a claim for one Mellif model does not establish compatibility across the range. Battery fit also does not mean the chargers are interchangeable.
Check whether your exact Mellif tool is made for Makita 18V batteries
Start with the product listing and model number, not the brand name alone. Mellif’s UK collection lists several tools as compatible with Makita 18V batteries, and its compatible-tools collection can help identify candidates. The listing for the Mellif cordless dust blower, for example, says it works with Makita 18V batteries. These are manufacturer claims, not independent confirmation that every Makita pack or Mellif tool will work.
If the exact Mellif tool is explicitly sold for Makita 18V batteries, the available product information describes direct fit. It does not establish that a separate Makita-to-Mellif adapter is required. If compatibility is not stated for your exact model, do not assume an adapter will make it suitable; check the tool maker’s guidance and any adapter maker’s model list before purchasing.

Check what is included and whether the listing is current
The dust blower listing is marked tool-only, so it is sold without a battery. Mellif advertises a brushless motor, up to 50,000 RPM, three adjustable wind speeds and three nozzles; those are listing specifications, not independently measured results. The page showed the blower as presale when accessed on 2026-10-04, and stock or availability may change. Confirm the current listing, seller, market and included items at checkout.

Mellif’s UK collection also lists tools such as a jigsaw, sander, buffer polisher, soldering station and pumps. Their presence in the collection does not establish that a particular model is currently available or that every variant uses the same battery interface.
Keep battery fit separate from charger compatibility
Mellif describes its green batteries as intended for tools designed for Makita batteries, grey batteries for DeWalt-compatible tools, and red batteries for certain Milwaukee-compatible tools. Mellif says these color-coded battery families are not interchangeable. Check the battery family and the exact tool’s requirements rather than relying on appearance alone.

Charging is a separate question. Mellif says its batteries should be charged with the matching Mellif charger. Its product-page information for a green 18V replacement battery says the Mellif charger cannot charge original Makita batteries, and that the Mellif battery cannot be charged with an original Makita charger. Consider safety and warranty guidance for cross-brand setups
Makita Power Tools (HK) Limited published a safety statement on 2026-01-02 advising users to use genuine Makita batteries with Makita tools and chargers. It warns that using batteries with other-brand tools, adapters, modified devices or non-approved equipment may cause malfunction or safety hazards, and says such use is not covered by its warranty or repair services. This is Makita Hong Kong’s stated position; consult the applicable local Makita entity and the relevant product manuals for guidance in your market. The English statement is translated from a Chinese original, which Makita says prevails if the two versions differ. Read the Makita Hong Kong safety statement.

Compare direct-fit tools with adapter-based setups
If you are weighing a Mellif tool advertised for Makita batteries against an adapter setup, use these checks rather than assuming either arrangement is universally compatible.
