Hajin is a PvPvE exclusion zone: expect North Korean AI patrols and specialist threats, but also rival human Operators who are not counted by the local Threat indicator. Check each Point of Interest’s Threat level, read the Tac-Map and other HUD signals together, and be ready to use cover, stealth, disengagement, or extraction as conditions change.

Who and what can threaten you in Hajin?

Call of Duty’s October 2026 official Hajin Intel Guide describes stationary and roving patrols belonging to a secretive North Korean faction. Their response can vary: enemies may ignore, search for, or attack Operators depending on the threat they perceive. The guide’s roster spans ordinary troops, specialized units, vehicles, bosses, and other Operators.

North Korean soldiers and autonomous units

  • Tier 1: North Korean Grunts.
  • Tier 2: Armored North Korean Soldiers.
  • Tier 3: Armored, Gas Masked North Korean Soldiers.
  • Tier 4: Faceless Armored North Korean Soldiers.
  • Autonomous Combat Drone Swarm and Autonomous LMG Combat Drone.
  • Autonomous Quadrupeds: K9, usually found underground, according to the guide.

Patrols, bosses, and rival Operators

  • Attack Infantry Helicopter Patrols and Road Convoys.
  • Lieutenants, identified as bosses.
  • Commander bosses: Colossus, Deathstalker, and Main NK Battle Tank.
  • Enemy Players: human Operators who may be fighting AI, pursuing the same objective, or looking for other squads.

The October guide also lists an additional item as “[CLASSIFIED]” without identifying it. Its identity is not established in the guide, so it should not be treated as a known enemy type. A separate June 2026 overview broadly mentions Commander threats such as tanks, drone swarms, Deathstalker helicopters, Juggernauts, and Elite Strike Teams. That overview does not establish a one-to-one mapping between those examples and the October guide’s named roster.

How the local Threat level works

When you enter a Hajin Point of Interest (POI), its Threat level appears below the compass. The October guide says disruptive combat raises Threat locally; higher levels signal that enemies in that area may be more numerous and dangerous. Low is the least problematic level in a location that still contains enemies, while Extreme is the highest. The display indicates expected AI danger, not a complete script for every encounter: individual POIs can have unique threats.

The guide says sustained aggression can provoke retaliation. It recommends reducing aggressive actions, using cover, leaving the area or moving toward a rural environment, and breaking visual or audible contact to calm a situation. It also describes stealth eliminations with melee weapons, throwing knives, or suppressed shots as ways to move through higher-Threat areas without attracting notice. These are official recommendations, not guaranteed outcomes.

Threat does not include human Operators. Call of Duty’s October guide explicitly warns that rival players may still create combat opportunities or ambushes when the AI Threat reading is low. Treat the indicator as an AI warning, never as an all-clear for PvP.

What enemy behavior and the Stealth Meter can tell you

Call of Duty’s June 2026 overview says improved AI can coordinate in squads, navigate, react, and pressure players. A lone enemy may take cover and hold position, freeze, or try to break line of sight. The Stealth Meter is especially useful for solo play: an audio cue and a HUD indicator that shifts from white to yellow to orange signal that an AI enemy is getting close to spotting you. The overview’s suggested response is to get low or return to cover before the hostile becomes alerted.

How to use the Tac-Map and HUD together

These displays answer different operational questions. The Tac-Map provides a broad view for navigation and planning; the HUD supplies immediate status and danger cues. Call of Duty’s guides describe the following information:

Display What it tells you How to use it
Tac-Map Mission objectives, POIs, critical threat areas, enemy compounds, key buildings, ammo and armor caches, radiation, your position and heading, nearby enemies, and pings. Plan routes, locate objectives, track nearby risks, and communicate broad locations using the map grid. The October guide gives D7 for Imjin Farmland as an example.
Threat indicator Local expected AI danger at the POI you have entered; higher Threat corresponds to more dangerous and numerous enemies. Use it to anticipate AI pressure, not to assess rival Operators.
Hostiles Kill Count Your progress on the hostiles meter. The October guide says that filling the meter dispatches an enemy Hunt Squad and marks you for death.
Radiation indicator and timer Time remaining and the spreading radiation storm. Watch conditions worsen and identify an exfil point rather than waiting until the route is compromised.
Stealth Meter Proximity to AI detection, including an audio cue and white-to-yellow-to-orange HUD change. Get low or return to cover as the indicator warns that an enemy is close to spotting you.
Other HUD elements Objectives, compass, squad status, DMZ Cash, equipment, and weapons. Check these alongside the map and threat cues to keep track of your current operation and squad.

The Forward Operating Base (FOB) is the between-operation hub. The June overview lists storage, crafting, weapon purchasing, a firing range, bounty boards, and upgrade systems among its services.

How to prepare and respond when danger rises

  1. Read the POI Threat as you arrive. Expect stronger or more numerous AI at higher levels, but remain alert for players regardless of the reading.
  2. Set your route on the Tac-Map. Check objectives, compounds, critical threat areas, caches, nearby enemies, radiation, and your position. Use grid references when coordinating locations.
  3. Watch the separate escalation signals. Track the radiation timer and exfil options, the Hostiles Kill Count, and the Stealth Meter; none of these replaces the local Threat indicator.
  4. When AI is close to spotting you, reduce exposure. The June overview recommends getting low or returning to cover. The October guide also recommends stealth and breaking visual or audible contact.
  5. Break contact if a fight becomes too costly. The October guide advises controlling the area during a Commander engagement, while being ready to leave if the fight becomes insurmountable. Such encounters may draw nearby forces, rival Operators, or squads hunting the same target.
  6. Decide whether a Lieutenant’s Dog Tag Case is worth the exposure. The Case appears on the Tac-Map for every Operator; picking it up broadcasts your position. The guide calls fast exfil the safest option after taking it.

Choosing between stealth, fighting, and disengaging

The official material gives mechanics and recommendations, not tested success rates or a universally best strategy. The decision depends on your objective and how much exposure you can accept.

Choice What it can mean Trade-off
Stealth rather than direct combat Use cover and low-profile movement; the October guide also names melee, throwing knives, and suppressed shots for stealth eliminations. Can help avoid attracting attention, but it does not make you invisible to rival Operators.
Remain in a high-Threat POI Continue toward objectives or an encounter while facing the local AI response. Disruptive combat can raise local Threat, and the guide warns that higher levels mean more dangerous and numerous enemies.
Leave the area Break contact, move away, or head toward a rural environment as the guide suggests. Reduces continued exposure to that fight, but may mean abandoning nearby objectives or loot.
Pursue a Lieutenant’s Dog Tag Case Take the Case, which is visible on the Tac-Map for all Operators. Picking it up broadcasts your position; the guide recommends fast exfil as the safest response.
