Discord Orbs are earned by completing eligible Quests, including some short Video Quests that reward you for watching an ad. Accept a Quest, meet its specific requirements, then claim the Orbs; availability and reward amounts depend on the promotion. Discord describes Orbs as rewards for completing Quests in its Orbs FAQ.
How to earn Discord Orbs by watching ads
Discord Quests are opt-in promotions that may ask you to play a game, stream gameplay, or watch a video. They are personalized or contextual, run for a limited time, and have promotion-specific terms. You only earn Orbs when the Quest offers them and you complete its stated requirements.

- Open Discord and go to Quest Home, or open an eligible Quest promotion when it appears.
- Review the Quest’s reward, eligibility, deadline, and completion requirements, then accept it.
- Complete the required activity. For a Video Quest, tap to start and watch the video as directed.
- Claim the reward when Discord marks the Quest complete. Check your Orb balance in Quest Home or the Shop.
Discord’s September 29, 2026 announcement says players can tap, watch, and earn Orbs after approximately 15 seconds. Treat that as the announced interaction for Video Quests, not a universal promise: Discord says each Quest has its own completion timeframe and requirements. A promotion may require more than simply letting a video play.

Quests are optional advertising promotions, not a permanent earning button available to every account. Whether one appears, what it pays, and when it expires can vary by promotion.

Does Nitro earn more Orbs?
Yes, eligible Nitro subscribers get two Orb benefits described by Discord: a monthly allowance and a multiplier on qualifying Quest rewards. These are separate from the Orbs you earn by completing a Quest.
| Benefit | What Discord says | Eligibility and timing |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly Orbs | 250 Orbs per month | Nitro subscribers; described by Discord in 2026. |
| Quest reward multiplier | 1.2× Orb rewards | Applies to eligible Nitro subscribers on qualifying Orb-offering Quests starting May 8, 2026. Nitro Basic and Nitro purchased through Nitro Credits are excluded. |
Discord’s Nitro Rewards announcement also characterizes the Quest benefit as 20% more Orb earning. The multiplier does not make every Quest available or guarantee that a promotion offers Orbs; check the individual Quest’s terms.

What determines whether a Quest is worthwhile?
- Access: Quests are personalized or contextual and time-limited, so an offer may not be available to every user.
- Requirements: A Video Quest may take approximately 15 seconds, but use the specific Quest’s instructions and completion timeframe.
- Reward: Read the Orb amount before accepting; rewards are promotion-specific.
- Expiry: Check the deadline and claim the reward after completion rather than assuming it will remain available indefinitely.
- Redemption: Review the Shop catalog to decide whether its current Orbs items are worth pursuing.
- Nitro status: Compare the Quest reward and monthly allowance against the subscription’s cost and your actual use of Nitro; Orbs alone do not establish whether Nitro is worthwhile.
