The Dirt Devil Rebel 3.0 DDRC3 is a bagless cylinder vacuum intended for household cleaning on dry indoor surfaces. Its user guide gives manufacturer specifications and maintenance instructions; CHOICE separately lists measured figures and marks the model discontinued. CHOICE’s accessible page does not show its rating or detailed test results, so those cannot support a performance verdict here.
What the DDRC3 is—and what this review can establish
The Dirt Devil user guide identifies the model as DDRC3 and calls it the Rebel 3.0. It describes a household vacuum for indoor use on dry surfaces, not for commercial or industrial cleaning. This is a source-based review, not a hands-on test: it does not establish how well the DDRC3 cleans in practice or how reliably it performs over time.

CHOICE’s model page labels the DDRC3 discontinued. The page’s Expert Rating, cleaning scores, reliability and satisfaction information, and detailed pros and cons are member-only on the accessible page. Its visible information therefore does not justify saying the vacuum tested well or poorly, or that CHOICE recommends it.

The capacity and weight figures should not be collapsed into one “correct” number: the guide states a 2.0 L capacity and 4.1 kg cylinder weight, while CHOICE reports a measured 1.6 L dust-collector volume and 5.22 kg weight. The guide’s 5 m figure is cord length; CHOICE’s 7.5 m is reach from the power point, a different measure.
Tools and controls
The guide shows a hose, metal telescopic wand, combination floor tool, crevice tool, dusting brush, dirt container, variable power dial and cord rewind. The floor tool has a rocker for carpet and hard-floor use, while the dial adjusts power for different surfaces. CHOICE reports a supplied extension tube, hose, carpet/hard-floor tool, and combined crevice tool and dusting brush; its descriptions are not identical to the guide’s component list.

Filter care and routine maintenance
Unplug the vacuum before maintenance, emptying the container or changing attachments. For reduced suction, the guide advises checking the container, filters, separator and hose for fullness, dirt or blockages.
Pre-motor filter
The pre-motor filter is washable. Rinse it at no more than 40°C and let it dry for a full 24 hours before reinstalling. Do not shorten the drying time: reinstalling a damp filter conflicts with the guide’s instructions.

Post-motor HEPA media filter
The post-motor HEPA media filter is not washable. The guide says to tap it clean; do not rinse it.
If the thermal cut-out trips
Unplug the vacuum, empty the container, check for blockages, clean the filters and allow the machine to cool. If a filter has been washed, wait the full 24 hours for it to dry before refitting it.

Safety and suitable use
The guide is for household use on dry indoor surfaces. Follow the complete Dirt Devil Rebel 3.0 DDRC3 user guide for operating and safety instructions.

Should you buy or keep a DDRC3?
Because CHOICE lists the DDRC3 as discontinued, treat any listing as a specific used, refurbished or remaining-stock offer—not evidence of general current availability. Check the exact model number, condition, seller, location and stock before buying. The CHOICE page’s historical $90 listing is not a current price.
For an existing owner, confirm that replacement filters or other parts explicitly fit the Australian/New Zealand DDRC3 before ordering. The guide establishes that the pre-motor filter is washable and the post-motor HEPA media filter is not, but current compatible part numbers and stock are not established here. Do not assume a part marketed for a US-market Dirt Devil model fits this DDRC3.
For comparison with another vacuum, match measurement definitions: stated versus measured power, bin capacity, cylinder-only versus whole-machine weight, cord length versus reach, floor types and supplied tools, filter care, replacement-part support and current availability. CHOICE’s inaccessible scores cannot substantiate a score-based comparison for this model.
