Yes—Wiz announced on November 21, 2024, that it would acquire Dazz. The $450 million valuation, however, was reported by TechCrunch citing sources familiar with the deal; Wiz’s announcement did not disclose a price. TechCrunch also reported that the transaction was structured as cash and shares.

What Wiz said it was acquiring

Wiz presented the deal as a way to extend its security work from cloud environments into application risks and remediation. The company said Dazz’s technology could connect information from multiple sources, trace security issues to root causes, and help engineers address vulnerabilities in code using cloud context. Those are Wiz’s descriptions of the product and strategic rationale, not independent measurements of its performance.

In the announcement, Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport wrote: “With Dazz’s industry-leading remediation engine, we can empower security teams to correlate data from multiple sources and manage application risks in one unified platform.” Wiz’s acquisition announcement was published on November 21, 2024.

Where the $450 million figure comes from

TechCrunch reported that the acquisition was valued at $450 million and would be paid in cash and shares, citing sources familiar with the matter. That figure and deal structure were not disclosed in Wiz’s announcement, so they should be treated as reported terms rather than official figures stated by Wiz. TechCrunch’s report was also published on November 21, 2024.

Wiz’s current ownership

Google later announced an agreement to acquire Wiz for $32 billion in an all-cash transaction, subject to closing adjustments. That amount refers to Google’s acquisition of Wiz, not the earlier Dazz deal. Wiz said Google completed the acquisition on March 11, 2026, so Wiz is now owned by Google rather than operating as an independent company.
