No: NVIDIA’s official timeline did not put both desktop cards’ launches in April. The company announced the desktop GeForce RTX 5070 for February 2025, while the desktop RTX 5060 was announced for May. April timing applied to the separate RTX 5060 Ti and to RTX 5070 Laptop GPUs—not the desktop RTX 5070.
What NVIDIA announced for the desktop RTX 5070 and RTX 5060
NVIDIA’s January 6, 2025 announcement said the desktop GeForce RTX 5070 would be available starting in February at a US starting price of $549. That was the company’s announced schedule and price, not a guarantee of retail stock or the price buyers would actually pay. NVIDIA’s RTX 50 Series announcement

Why April appears in the RTX 50-series timeline
RTX 5060 Ti was a different desktop model
The RTX 5060 Ti is not the RTX 5060. NVIDIA said the Ti model’s 16GB and 8GB versions would be available starting April 16, 2025, at starting prices of $429 and $379, respectively. Those prices and that date do not apply to the non-Ti RTX 5060. NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 family announcement
RTX 5070 Laptop GPUs were also scheduled for April
NVIDIA’s January announcement placed RTX 5070 Laptop GPUs in April. These are mobile graphics processors for laptops, not the desktop RTX 5070 card. The desktop and laptop timing should not be treated as one launch date. NVIDIA’s GeForce announcement page
What the February delay headline establishes—and what it does not
The conditional headline “Nvidia RTX 5070 and 5060 Delays Could Push Launch Into April” was listed in a February 14, 2025 Bug.hr forum post that attributed it to ExtremeTech. That is evidence the headline was circulating, but it does not verify the original report’s sourcing or prove that either desktop launch was moved to April. Contemporaneous Bug.hr forum reference

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThe original ExtremeTech report and its underlying evidence are not available here, so its specific explanation for the forecast cannot be confirmed. NVIDIA’s later announcements establish the company’s stated timing: February for the desktop RTX 5070 and May for the desktop RTX 5060. They do not, by themselves, establish what happened to retail availability on every date or whether a previously planned schedule changed.
