The reported 30–40% cut to GeForce RTX 50 supply was an estimate attributed to Chinese supply-chain sources—not a production target confirmed by NVIDIA. It referred to the first half of 2026 compared with the first half of 2025. That forecast period has passed, and the available sources do not establish whether the reduction happened or how many cards shipped.
Where did the 30–40% figure come from?
In late 2025, AS/MeriStation reported that NVIDIA might reduce RTX 50-series GPU supply by 30–40% in the first half of 2026, compared with the same period in 2025. The report attributed the estimate to supply-chain sources in China and BoBantang. It was not an NVIDIA announcement or independently verified shipment data. Read the AS/MeriStation report.
The wording matters: a reported estimate about planned supply is not proof of a production cut, a reduction in shipments, or a shortage affecting every RTX 50 model. The report does not establish a model-by-model or region-by-region breakdown.

What NVIDIA has confirmed about memory supply
An NVIDIA spokesperson told The Information: “Demand for GeForce RTX GPUs is strong, and memory supply is constrained.” The statement confirms the company acknowledged constrained memory supply, but it did not quantify an effect on RTX 50 production. Separately, The Information reported that NVIDIA was cutting gaming GPU production because of memory shortages; that report does not verify the specific 30–40% figure. Read The Information’s report.

NVIDIA’s Form 10-Q, filed July 26, 2026, discusses supply-chain risks and increased supply and capacity commitments. The surfaced filing material does not disclose a 30–40% reduction in GeForce supply. Read NVIDIA’s Form 10-Q on the SEC website.
What the AI-memory news does—and does not—show
On June 7, 2026, NVIDIA and SK hynix announced a multiyear technology partnership to advance memory for AI factories. This is evidence of investment in AI-related memory technology, but it does not show that AI demand directly displaced memory allocated to GeForce graphics cards. A separate TrendForce report from June 10, 2026, concerns the memory configuration of NVIDIA’s Vera CPU. It says that configuration change should not be interpreted as reducing NVIDIA’s total memory requirements. Vera CPU memory is a distinct topic from GeForce RTX 50 supply. What is known about RTX 50 availability now?
The cited sources do not establish whether the forecast reduction was realized, provide verified RTX 50 shipment totals, or show which models and regions were affected. NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 Series page identifies the product family, and its January 6, 2025 launch announcement describes the Blackwell-based series; neither confirms later supply reductions.
